Header downpipe question

I have a badmab header, and a 2.5in ZZP catted downpipe. When connected, there is very little contact between the flanges. See pic. I traced the dp flange on the header flange, and you can see there is very little coverage, 1/4 inch on right and bottom at the smallest point, and 3/16 inch on the left. Is this bad??? I've sent ZZP an email, but no response, so just getting opinions here. I believe it is bad...

Oh, yeah, I happened to see this in one of the primaries!

ZZP's flange is a little different than ours (we like to provide as much surface area as possible). I'm not saying anything is wrong with theirs though. As long as you can make a solid seal then you should be good. And we have had numerous customers team our header with the zzp lsj dp.
