where is the oil pump located in this motor? i got the motor taken apart, except for the oil pan and pistons and such, according to the daigram i have on the lnf and lsj they are behind the timeing chain cover, but its not on the 2.2 lap. iv taken everything out from behind the timeing chain cover and no oil pump, is it in the oil pan ?

 

Its part of the timing chain cover, or I should say bolted onto the back on the timing chain cover. When you buy a new GM cover it comes with with the oil pump
