injectors, and tb port/polish
injectors, and tb port/polish
hey guys, I've recently bought a house so my fundings kinda slim for the balt right now. I've been lookin for some cheaper performance mods. would larger injectors be of any performance boost on a stock 09 lt? I'm also lookin at portin and polishing my tb, I've got a mind for detail and am planning on taking this on my own. but I was wondering if knife blading the tb plate is really a huge benefit or just makes that plate weaker, I've done some research with little results so I was wonderin if anyone knew.

Honestly, I had a sand bit that came with my dremel, I went to town on the green areas. I then when over it with 200,800. Mine is not how it should look because I did this @ 3am one night cuz I was bored. If I do it right, I would go 100ish,400, 800 until its was shiny and looked smothe aswell as actually being smothe.
ok guys. I did this two nights ago, and I'd say it came out very well. I'm still working on pictures but I did notice a difference.
Now this picture sucks but this is what happened when I went over it with a wire wheel attatchment on my black and decker rtx

it was an easy fix but for some reason the wheel just pitted and made the inside look worse than when I sanded with 120 grit sandpaper.

and ths is my finished product. I'll have better pics when I get a camera.

the knifebladeing the tb plate helps some on the lt1 & lt4 engines. i doubt it would net much of a gain at all on the 2.2 since its not even half the size of the 350 sbc that barely gains anything
Pooled? Like if you took it out and shook it around or tipped it over oil pours out? I can tell oil has been in mine but I never had any pour out.. You should maybe invest in an oil catch can but it sounds like there might be an issue? I don't know if thats a serious issue but I don't remember anyone ever saying hey, oil is pouring outta my IM guys, come and see! IYKWIM..
NWAE's thread (some pictures are gone): https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ight=oil+catch
Other mics pics of catch can set ups: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ight=oil+catch

so did you ever get a camera? lol im still waiting on pics. if you noticed a big gain i will try it... did you knifeblade the plate? also did you use a dremel to smooth it out or sandpaper and elbow grease?
ha sorry. it's gonna be after christmas that I get a camera. no knife blade on the endplate. I used a dremel with a polishing bit and rubbing compound to smooth it out. it worked really well. I'll have pics in a few days boys. I noticed a faster throttle response, and I did get a little more throaty tone. I really like what happened with the work I did.
