jerking

the car i have is a 2009 cobalt ls xfe. and it has 73000 miles on it... this problem doesnt happen in first or second gear but does in third, forth and fifth. when i get to about 2500 rpms the car will start to jerk it will do it in the three gears i listed above. it doesnt do as often in fifth. but in third and forth it will do it everytime. does anyone know what this could be?

Is it bouncing RPM's or like the trans jerking? I think you gotta be more specific

it feels like the power is cutting in and out. and i was talking to a girl i graduated with and she has a 2010 ls xfe and she said hers does it when it is really hot out too. so now i know its not only mine doing that
