Thought you could swap out and omit the VVT; why is it I think that Hot Rod mag did something like this? I read they played with an eco where they 'charged and cammed it, but to do so I thought they popped out the VVT.

There might be more power gained by tuning with the vvt rather than tuning for a staged cam setup.

I dont know if the lap cams are the same as the le5 cams or not. But the LE5's pick up nicely from a tune and im sure optimizing the vvt could help a slight amount more. The thing is the staged cams for the L61 wont work without deleting the vvt if thats possible. And if it is then running those cams could give up some of the driving manners. Honestly id ignore the stage cams for the LAP and see if the LE5/ZZP cams would work for the LAP. It would idle like stock and pull harder uptop. Instead of a slightly lumpy to pretty lumpy idle and possibly being soft down low and trading the down low power for upper rpm power.

when i had a problem with my VVT, the shop that fixed it said they had to turn the actuators each tooth or something at a time, put the valve cover back on start the car and see ifthe light came back on... idk if they fully fixed it cuz i had a dip in my torque between 3800-4100 and u can feel it in the car
