Fully stock unaltered SS exhaust wont be much louder if any than the stock exhaust.

An SS exhaust with the cat gutted/removed and the bafflers from the muffler removed will be much louder and most likely not in a good way.

 

Yep the guy emptied the cat and muffler...

So it wont just sound like **** but I will loose some power...

So thats a 150 buck thrown in garbage?

 

You will honestly gain some hp. Might lose a bit of power downlow... Wont make promises on how it will sound or if it was worth it though.

 

well the guy had that on his SS sc and he said sound wasnt bad at all and that he kept that a long time to be quiet

and is the tubing of the exhaust of the SS the same size of an LS

+ I still have a resonator it will help it being quiet no?

 

To my knowledge the exhaust piping size on the SS is slightly larger than the LS.

I,have personal experience on this.

i have the ss/tc catback, bought it with 3kmiles on it for 150$, bought a lsj downpipe for 45$, and im just gonna go with an aftermarket header so after a i get my header all in all, ill spend about 400$ for a full setup, and its amazing cheap full exhaust setup.

im also backed by a 2.4 intake manifold and cold air intake

GOD damn IT I just saw today that my nuts that connects my d/p headers theres one that is like 0.5 cm not in!

Thats where my leak comes from but my nut is stripped so I got to the store and buy one. Just waiting for my car to cool down now

 

i just installed an LSJ mani/dp yesterday.. took 1.5 hours.. sounds a little rumblier on cold starts and if you notice any gains whatsoever, its above 4000 rpm.. nice upgrade for the $80 i paid for it all

 

my cat is empty so gains are more noticable and sound too

 

ah lil update... I've waited to put a cat-back from mandrel exhaustwith magnaflow muffler cause the sound isnt deep enough I've made a video already so I'll post 2 so you can compare
