nhanson's S/C build
I would appreciate the spreadsheet to give me an idea and complete list of parts.
I just installed my 2.4 intake manifold that I've had sitting around for a year or two...got the mani and 2.4 tb from hoffa for dirt cheap and just decided to finally install it. I think I'll get it tuned for the tb by Vince because I only have to pay a small amount to have him refine for the new exhaust and intake mani and tb vs the HPT right now, but it's a decent little gain to make me content for a while.
Now that I've messed with this I think I'd be more comfortable doing the SC.
I'll be more inclined to pursue the SC setup if I can save money on buying it.

What kind of power do you two think you're pushing? Any worries that you will need to do internal work soon?
I'm really not looking for too much power...I just want to be able to surprise people. Had a run-in with a older guy in a Regal GS on the way to the Anoka car show with my son...sitting at a light on Main St and he thinks I'm giving it gas because my shitty Pacesetter header has a leak in it. So he gets on it a little...then realizes I'm not trying to race. I'm not going to waste my time in the car as it sits now. It's got enough power to pass people and get the fuel economy I want and that's about it. It sounds mean, but has no go...LMAO.
So for people like that, I want to be able to show them it does have some ***** later on...nothing super exciting, but if I could make it quick enough to keep up with the older Mustang GT's (late 90's, early 2000's), I would be happy. I can't imagine it takes too much since those don't make tons of power...but that's my ideal ability...keep up with some stock V8's.
Also, thanks for the email. Got it and read over part of it. I'll ask you some questions here about stuff rather than email, but I'm kind of surprised the total was that high. Not including shipping and some other stuff you mentioned.
Nevermind, I realize now that you have internals hhrfreek...did you upgrade the internals when you did the SC setup or more recently when wanting to go to a smaller pulley?
Also, you have the wheels I want...I saw the Sparco's on TireRack and decided on those for myself...planning on bronze for myself, what did you go with?

I keep up with Sti's and take down 300c's
Lots people say i have a sleeper
I built this winter after a year of SC. I lowered the compression a bit which I now realize was stupid for an m62. Hopefully a 1320 or turbo is in the cards for next year to take better advantage of the lower compression.
Sparco wheels are awesome. Tire/wheel combo has to be 5lbs lighter than stock and my stockers were 16s vs 17s. I did black...at that time the wheel was brand new and only black was offered and now they offer a couple colors.
I dynoed 272/249 on 2.7/93 octane on a fubar tune this spring, but I am not getting into that...
Now on e85. I can roll on 2nd with good tires/lsd and spin to redline and I couldn't do that on gas. I would guess darn close to my goal of 300whp now. the AIS kit is mostly so I can drive more aggressively when its hot and hit the track regularly seeing the m62 makes a ton of heat with the small pulleys and i will be going back to 93 closer to winter.

Also didn't realize you are a 2.4 manual...
The year after I bought my car I test drove an HHR 2.4 with an auto and I liked the vehicle (always loved the HHR's), but I didn't care for the blind spots so much.
Now looking over your car and seeing your dyno video, I think maybe I should return mine to stock and pick up an HHR...lol. I can transfer a bunch of parts over. The HHR's in the area are cheap...not easy to find a manual 2.4 though around here.
I'm so torn on what to do with my car...I always go back and forth, but right now I need to fix things and work on saving money so I'll have time to think about it.

LOL I looked for a month for a black HHR 5spd and when one popped up within an hour driving distance it was mine the next day. A bit heavy for awesome times like the Cobalt, but fun nonetheless with a SC.
Oh yeah...Blind spots are seriously bad. Worst ever. I look like a bird when I am getting ready to cross an intersection.
And the tach is annoying too...It stops at 7k so I am always guessing when shifting above that.
