This Section is DEAD!

There's rarely any new posts in the LAP section. Lets get this section going with general LAP discussions.

Has anyone taken there car to the track yet? Has anyone had any particularly good results with a certian mod? What's everyones mod plan's with their LAP?

To be honest I didn't plan on spending a cent on my car, I've recently picked up some springs/struts that i'm waiting to throw on. I'm also thinking about adding an intake, B&M Shiftplus, and a catback from http://www.mandrelexhaustsystems.com...EXHAUST/Detail They looks pretty decent, does anyone have any sound clips? Is anyone here tuned? If so, what were the results?

I just went out and looked under the hood for the first time. Looks like my '09 does NOT have SAI, super pumped on that. So I assume all '05-'08 2.2/2.4 headers will fit? Anyone else not have sai and have a header?

Just took my car for the first time to the track ever. Ran a 14 flat with my garrett turbo kit.

I will break 13's easily next time I go.

1/4 mile is addicting lol

the 2.2 stock is slow enough, the 2.2lap is slightly slower with slightly increased gas mileage

you CAN make a 2.2 (either one) quick, but it takes a lot of work and a couple grand

Still 100whp more than stock, pretty impressive.

My plans are still up in the air. My car is an auto which is retarded (I didn't buy/pick out the car).So i'm not even sure I want to invest anything into my car other than suspension i've already bought.

I could add a header back exhaust, intake, B&M shift +, tune and run what? maybe 15.5.. 2 1/2 seconds slower than my old car

low 15s with that setup and good tires/launch

100hp over stock is impressive, but still slow, that's all

autos with boost aren't bad, they hold the psi between shifts

I have no idea, it'd be nice to have some more information on the two motors.

Anyone know if a '05-'08 2.2/2.4 header will fit a '09+ LAP without sai? Without causing a CEL...

Anyone taken their stock LAP to the track, i'd like to see how the LAP comapres to the L61.

The whistle you hear is your stock airbox, my 07 did that too, sounded like a S/C spinning up

quick difference between lap and l61 is VVT, which gives the lap more top end and slightly worse bottom end so 0-60 is slower in lap but 60-110 is quicker

Do you know if a header is interchangable between LE5's, L61's and LAP's, granted they all do not have sai.

More like 250 HP. I have the Stage 2 injectors with a 3.0 pulley and a ZZP H/E.... 250 for a car this size is a lot more impressive than 155.

Yes, but use the LSJ since it is bigger. I have installed a LSJ DP and header.

So LSJ/LE5/L61/LAP all have interchangeable headers? Does anyone know if we benefit from the LE5 Intake Manifold? Do wer have the same rods and pistons as the L61/LE5, capable of safely using up to a 75 wet shot.

Nice!!!! I can't wait to start doin some N/A work on my car. by the time I'm done, which wil lbe a few years, I'm plannin on ported polished heads, cams, pistons, rods, and maybe a little more like tuning and some other goodies! I'm still tryin to see where I can get my sai flashed out, I hate that damn thing. I've got nearly new lsj header and nib lsj dp chillin in my garage. I'm waiting for my tsudo exhaust to throw on the dp, or would it fit in the stock location do you guys think?

Yes the headers are all interchangable, but there is no benefit in doing so unless you use the LSJ. Just as a reminder, there are problems with the LSJ header and DP on an automatic. Also the LSJ header and dp have to be used together.

As I'm doing my supercharger build I found out why. The LSJ header is shorter than the stock and the LSJ DP is longer than stock (to make up for the shortness), so that is why they are used together.

Actually, for the LAP engine, they do have the 08 and up LE5 intake manifold. That is where the extra HP came in 09 for the 2.2.
