After doing some searching on youtube and checking out several exhausts I have decided on getting a Magnaflow muffler. My question is to those that have them which one (part number) did u go with? Sorry for my lack of knowledge but the 09 Cobalt has 2.25 inch piping right? Should I get a 2.25 inlet/outlet or a 2.5 inlet/outlet? Magnaflows web site has part number 11215, 4x9 oval that is 20 inches long...I think that will work right? Thanks!

 

This is kind of a personal sound. What I did was go to my local muffler shop and had him cut out the factory resinater and muffler. He then got four different magnaflow mufflers out each one a little louder than the first. He had me start the car while he held one of them on and I rapped the gas to hear the sound of all four magnaflow's until I settled on a tone I really liked.

I got the 6" round race muffler with the 2.5. It has a nice sound.. but is small and light. It cost me around 250 bucks since they only make them on demend. lol... i like it though. It was either that or just a strait pipe. Love that sound!!

Yes 2.5. Just look up under race mufflers. Its strait threw with the 2.5 inlet/outlet, and is called the 6" round

 

Sorry, I don't. Most good quality local muffler shops will have a large stock on the shelf. Go have a talk with them, they should be able to answer all of your questions.
