What would be the best solution to cleaning out a cobalts throttle body?

 

take it off spay it with tb cleaner and clean it

 

I s there a way of cleaning it without taking it off what if i got a toothbrush and sprayed alittle carb cleaner on it and scrub it when it was cool

 

why not just take it off? its like 4 bolts or whatever it is

 

I'm not to sure from what i hear when you take it off and clean it you will have some problems with it idle and when you increase your speed

 

1. use throttlebody cleaner not carb cleaner
2. take it off u dont want **** goin down ur intake
3. dont spray it directly, take a rag and spray it and then wipe it....you can ruin the electrical connection if u accidently get a drop on it

 

meh took mine right off,, sprayed it directly ..sall good no issues

 

the electronics on these are durable, a little cleaner wont do anything to it if it's not powered right away. and if you're taking it off nothing will ruin ur idle, that's only when you pnp it. which is also really easy btw, and does help for a mild throttle response increase as well as a tad deeper tone. it's a cheap way to get minor gains compared to buyin a new bigger tb.
