08 "sport" vs "07" SS
Haha, you left that out mkruley. If anyone is a ricer, it's you mkruley! Wow, maybe he's just jealous of our LE5, Unlimited...and the fact that mine looks EXACTLY like an SS 2.4 from the factory.
Somebody told me the sport had the lt bodykit earlier in this thread by the way...to whoever that was...I don't even have words.

true but mkulrey isnt going round calling his 2.2 an SS, if someone were to ask him what he drove mkulrey would say "Cobalt LT/LS" but if someone were to ask Jaemon what he drove, he would obviously want to say "Cobalt SS" when its honestly not.
Point is.. SS badges on a Sport is rice. Plain and simple. Get over it your rice live with it. CC08 has and hes doing fine
exactly.. Im proud of my LS..why pass it off as something its not..Sorry i decided on OEM boday style over some "ricey" body kit
idiots on this site still amaze me!

i tend to agree........i am a 2.2 btw.........and im proud of that ****
just like those with the sport should be proud of their sport
but w-e if they wanna change it screw it its their car...........but many people will laughing and shaking their heads
ya people should be proud of their cars, no matter what is it.
and think about it, if you told someone you drove a "Sport" they would be more out to underestimate you then if you said "SS".
but theres a line between being proud of what you drive/loving it for what it is and calling it something its not.
and to Jaemon - if you dont feel the need to prove yourself to anyone for any reason then why go through all the trouble of this and rebadging your car? deep down you know its still a "Sport". when you get insurance you still have to put "Sport", not "SS." If you get pulled over, they still have to write down "Sport", not "SS." When you sell/trade your car in they will still write down "Sport", not "SS."

Its the same GD FRIKING SAME Car, who the hell cares. There is no difference, except for his year, they stopped calling it an SS, wich again, it never had any business being called anyways......

The GM parts list for my car says 2.4l SS. Same ******* car. It is not rice, no one will laugh, and mkruley is still a ricer. I had a 2.2 before this car, and I was proud also.
Plus, Mk, I use to have an l61 but I think it's time for you to admit the le5 is better ; ] I think you're insecure so you have to bash a 2.4l.

This has beaten to death, the SS is a trim package, always has been always will be even back in the day you could get the SS package then you had a different option code for the motor, so just because it said SS didn't mean it had X engine in it, and I am old enough to remember. Why do you think numbers matching is so important for classic cars??? The SC and TC is the designator for the cobalt on your engine type or performance package or whatever you choose to call it. The 2.4/na had every right to be called an SS as it had the SS trim package, that doesn't mean it had X engine, if chevy has decided that as of 2008 SS will equal X engine, than it is a first in company history. The Sport also had the SS trim package but due to market backlash they opted to call it the sport package in 2008 as these cars were already in production and dropped the 2.4 all together for 2009.
