I fail to see how that is "hating". I love all Cobalts, hell I don't even have one yet but will soon. I personally wouldn't rebadge my car but like you say you can do what you want to your own car.
Well no obviously the 2.4 doesnt hang with the SC...Im not talking about this thread in particular it just seems like SC guys look down on anything else...

apparently the Sport is on 205/55R17 stock, while the SS is on 205/50R17 stock
so if you're crazy enough to go read the tires, you've got your answer

There's also that little rubber thing on the back of the door handles that was added in 08

Wow this turn nasty quick. I don't know why but everyone calls the 06-08 2.4L cobalts the fake SS, I guess cause it doesn't have a S/C or T/C. Ah whatever call it what you want. BTW I got my car for the SS badges and drove both the 07 and the 08 and the only difference that I could tell is the Sport was quieter.

I have no problem with the 06and 07's having "SS" badges and I don't consider them fake SS's. I have an issue with 08 SPORTS having "SS" badges on them!

so to the average car enthusiest, one who attends car shows, the race track, reads car magazines and does his own tune ups.......not an avid Cobalt guru......would they know if a sport was rebadged to an "ss" or vise versa? My answer is no, because I don't think they would notice or really care. Now if I put ZR1 badges on my ss, most people would be like wtf?.....they look 98% similar...I say put what you want on it and don't change for the bloods, crips or the West Side E Possee.

Whats your point? The same crowd your talking about wouldn't know a Mazda 3 hatch 2.3 with Mazdaspeed emblems. That doesn't change the fact that it's not what the emblems imply.

but we are not talking about putting supercharged or turbo emblems on a sport and implying that its one of the two, such as an m3 implying its turbo charged

Really I didn't know they made a MazdaSpeed N/A like they did with the Cobalt....Be mad at GM for calling an 07 2.4 a SS in the first place these people want to do that..

Honestly, OP just put them on to **** everyone off I think its worth it...

My post had nothing to do with the drivetrain. It's about putting an emblem (that didn't come factory) to imply that it's a diff car/trim.

mazda speed 3 looks way different than a mazda 3 so, ya, badging one an ms3 would be out there....but the ss n/a and sport are the same car, just named different.

I know but my post was saying that they made a SS N/A with the same motor but they didnt make a MazdaSpeed N/A so its not really a fair comparison...When the differences are that little screw it put them on if you want...

Again I wasn't talking about exterior, interior, drivetrain etc. I was talking about swapping emblems between two trims and used the Mazda as an example. Though that was avoided to point out the obvious I wasn't talking about. I would think trim changes along with the other diff between the two would = that it's not the same exact car. I don't personally care if a Sport has Sport or SS emblems.I just think it's funny some Sport's need SS emblems to feel "cool"/be happy with their car when infact the Sport is a newer improved version of the SS/NA.

ah, I see your point, well some people like the "ss" badge better than the sport badge...lol
like some one said earlier, the 'ss' badge got slanderd around and Chevy realized it to late.
