2.4 Body

is the body the same on the 2.4L SS as the 2.0L SS/SC?

Or are the bumpers and sides different.

Just asking because I am getting a cobalt in a few months and debating between 2.4 or 2.0..

The 2.4 and the 2.0 SS's are very close in looks.

Their are some small differences but nothing major.

ALL COBALT BODIES ARE THE SAME, the bumpers and side skirts and spoiler are the only differences. Plus or minus a sun roof

Yes, but bumpers, skirts and spoilers only cover about what? 30% of the actual BODY

actually they are a small part if you count the structural part of the body you dont see and that is the part that is the same.

The only noticeable difference is the front and rear valances. The sc also comes with 18" inch wheels, vice 17's and sits a tad bit lower. I woudn't even count the high mount wing, as apparently dealers are moving away from these..

The SC is more squared off. RK sports sells an after market replacement you can use to make your 2.4 squared off if you're really interested in that sqared look but want the 2.4.

The front bumpers on all cobalts are interchangeable, but I don't believe the rears are between coupe and sedan because of the rounded tail lamps.

Personally - I prefer the SS 2.4 as it looks more 'put together', whereas the SC looks like it has an aftermarket kit put on, but that's just me.

same front bumper w/ foglights, just dosen't have that tacky (sorry 2.0 guys!) lip extension. Sideskirts are identical. Rear valance on the 2.4 is unique from the 2.2 and the 2.0 The 2.2 has the smooth basic bumper, the 2.0 has that crazy meshed out split down the middle rear bumper, and the 2.4 has a bumper similar to that of the 2.2, but with a grey plastic diffuser with plastic mesh in the middle. I love the 2.4's rear bumper, b/c unllike the 2.2 and 2.0, the plastic diffuser (I know its not a REAL diffuser, but its easiest to just call it that) prevents your aftermarket exhaust from melting your bumper. Think of it as an integrated exhaust heat shield. And thats especially good if you have the ARK N2 like me, which is agressive and comes especially close to the bumper! Finally, as you've already read b/c im so late posting this, the 2.4 has 17" polished wheels as opposed to the 2.0's powercoated 18"s, and we share the 2.2's optional spoiler. Overall, I love the 2.4's overall clean/subtle look alot more than the overdone 2.0's looks. Both are beautiful cars, but I prefer the more refined look of the 2.4's.

^^ Well said. And I'd forgotten about the side skirts, which in my opinion totally make the 2.0 and 2.4.. i'm sure half the 2.2 guys would be MUCH happier with their appearance (those that aren't..) just by picking up a set of these.
