2.4 SS auto transmission problems

I've noticed when going from 0mph through 1st and into 2nd, and less frequently from 2nd to 3rd, especially at a high rate of acceleration, my transmission feels like its slipping. I can get the (TC) light to come on and feel a jerk upon upshifting if I gain 3k-4.5k RPMs in first and then suddenly take my foot off the accelerator. This doesn't always happen though. What I have also noticed is if I pull over and shut the car down and restart the problem goes away and now upshifts as normal. I have had no problems with 3-5th gear, on the highway or any normal driving. Any help is appreciated.

So you saying yours has the same problem or is this a design flaw that everyone has to deal with?

Well mine does the same thing and at first I thought it was my tune that was doing it but I'm pretty sure it's the tranny slipping. It does it only in like 3rd and 4th. It doesn't have a firm shift. It's slow to shift and the rpms bounce really bad when shifting. I've seen alot of people on here with this issue.

Well that's disappointing. Anything I can do besides start saving for transmission repair?

Have you tried changing the transmission fluid? And how many miles on the car?

49.5k so far. The fluid has never been changed (at least since I've owned it) so that would be a good place to start, possibly tomorrow. Thanks for the quick responses.

Geez. I wish my car had that mileage. Mine just hit 93k yesterday. And I haven't changed mine either. I probably should but I haven't got around to it.

Being in the military and going on back to back deployments is the only reason it has the miles it does.I just pulled it from AAAA storage after 6 months and it runs just fine. Have to put it back inside again in two months AGAIN.

Coupe. Nothing yet. I've had it for only 13 months and like I said, spent move of that time in the middle of the ocean. After addressing the transmission I'd like to do the intake then exhaust and HP tune as well. Could use some interior work too.

Oh that's cool. I just ignore my problem. It's annoying but I don't really care anymore. I'm getting a new car eventually anyways.

Oh yea. If i turns out to be something awful, forget it. I'm not dropping 2000+ into a new transmission. A flush is about all I'll do.

Same problem before I installed a B&M Electronic Shift + kit. Haven't had that problem ever since.
