2nd o2 sensor...

is there really a purpose for the 2nd o2 sensor on our cars?

i've been running the p0420 code now for 2 years w/out any problems

asking cuz i'm thinking about using its as a spot to throw my wideband sensor in... easier than drilling/welding a new hole

it let's you know if your cat is working properly... i took mine out a while back and just turned off the cel in hpt...

if you have a cat, that second bung wont do you any good for a wideband plug in. you need to have the bung welded after the 1st 02 sensor, before the cat, to not sku the readings.

i heard that... i wonder how scewed it will be.

are we talking scewing like if my real afr is 12.1, it'll read like 10.1? i can do a 2 pt calculation in my head much easier than making a new hole

I can't give you an exact answer as to what the actual afr may be...

but I do know placing a wideband after the cat will completely sku your readings.

go to a exhaust shop and spend 20 bucks for them to install a bung for you. Make sure it's PRE-CAT!

well after looking more closely...

the wideband sensor needs to be ~18in downstream from the header right? taking that into account, there's no place pre cat to make a hole, the downpipes on these are header connection, flex, 1.5-2in of pipe and then cat...

the only place pre cat is pretty small...

what hdr/dp do you have? I was under the assumption that the lsj, 2.2s, and 2.4s all have the same hdr/dp
