44lb. Injectors 2.4l ss
First off would I see any gains with 44lb injectors without a tune ??? because noone in my area seems to have hp tuners and I cant find a dyno to save my life ...... I live in las vegas
and the reason Iam asking specifically about the 44lb's is because Cobaltperformanceparts.com
lists them as basically a bolt on being that they connect straight into the stock harness and need no modification what so ever ...
any intel would be much appreciated

hm really i didnt know that. i have the stock 2.0 injectors going in this month. but maybe 44's wud b nice. but im not sure if i really need it. yet im having trouble finding that ecotec harness for the injectors. hmmm
then i got my injectors for free and prolly gonna get that harness real cheap. its 200 bucks for those injectors. thats nuts.
You'll kill your car! LOL! Those injectors are waaay to big for a non boosted car. All you need is a set of used 2.0SC injectors, a harness from a 03 - 05 Cavi or Sunflower and it all plugs right up no cutting or splicing.
But you need a tune or all your gonna do is dump mad gas into your engine! You do not need a dyno just someone with HP tuners and a couple back roads and to contact PhykoStevo and get his tune for them to install.

Dude its POURING down rain here! LOL! I wouldn't go to the junk yard for ME on a day like today. BUT I'm off a couple days next week and if I remember correctly I have 1 lone injector harness hidden in a Cavi's glove box that I found last week. I'll check for you tomorrow if it drys out some. Oh and your looking at about $15.00 shipped to you.
UPS charges more then I thought at first.

I have a question about the car being tuned w/stock 2.0L injectors. So you say that you need someone with a HP tuner, does it take them long with this thing to tune your car? Or what do they do? And when you get it tuned, what's that going to do to your gas mileage? And will the stock 2.0L injectors give you much extra HP?

They change the timing, the injector timing, the shifting if its an automatic.
Gas mileage dosen't change till you floor it then it can drink some gas! I get about 32 mpg on the highway in my automatic after the tune.
Between the tune and the injectors your looking at about 15 more WHP and if your in an automatic almost a second cut from your 1/4 mile times. The stock SC guys have me by about a car in the 1/4 and they have a very hard time with me on the highway now.

I would not do this as my first mod if i were you.
Like I said "Of they are knowledgable about the car", if not could be longer.
True this is a mod that you do once you have the intake and header at least. If you have no mods then you do not need this, the reason for it in the first place is the stock 2.4 injectors get very close to going static once you get modded. The 2.0 injectors give enough gas so you don't have a problem.
to even think about using this you would have to have a lot of **** done to the car. That car better be pushing a lot of air.
Intake, Exhaust, Head work, Change of cam, Catless Downpipe, agressive tuning to lean out the mixture of fuel... 2.0 injectors are all that you need for an N/A car. If you were turbocharged 42's are perfect start. 44's without tune will clog your catalyst converter in a heart beat, also the car WILL NOT know what to do with this extra fuel.

I.E. - #42's
Other than that, i totally agree with this post.
i know chevy likes to give out Maxed out injectors.
but to go get an injector swap, and a retune.. (when you would better benefit by getting other mods, and THEN injectors and a tune) makes no sense.

Ok in order.. Yes you need someone with HP tuners and it takes them as long as it does. Could be 10 minutes, could be 4 hours all depends on how knowledgable they are.

Some mis-information is starting to pop up I see, lets see if I can help a little bit more.
The reason why you need this swap is if you have any kind of intake or exhaust work and if you run your 2.4 hard. The 2.4 uses the same injectors as the 2.2 so that means they get maxed out fast in our bigger engine. This tune is ment to give you more fuel and less time with the stock injectors going static on you (A bad thing) You can do this swap as your first mod but theres not much reason too unless you have the others to help support it. The swap won't hurt anything if your stock but you just A. don't need it at this point, and B. won't see the full benifits of the tune without mods to support it. EXAMPLE:: My 2.4 is all stock except the GMPP intake and GMPP manifold, according to Steve and others with the 2.4 with these few mods my injectors were very close to being maxed out and possibly harming my engine by running it too lean. With my mods and the GMPP cat back the stock injectors can not keep up! Can you believe it? Even with just the GMPP stuff your pushing the factory injectors past what they can handle! This mod is for those who have some stuff done and are planning more cause then your stock injectors just can't handle it anymore.

The way I see it, is why do an intake, full exhaust, etc, if your injectors are already close to being maxed out? Might as well start with a solid support mod, and like Spaz said, any car can benefit from a tune (even a stock one).
