Automatic Transmission Fluid
I know I need to get Dextron-VI, but how many quarts of it do I need to get? A rock hit my transmission oil pan, and all of the ATF had drained out of my car while it sat on the side of the road over night. I ordered a new tranny pan and gasket, should I replace the filter too? Any help would be greatly appreciated
I found the answer in my owners manual (should have looked better) about how many quarts I need (7). But should I replace the filter as well? Anyone know a place where I can get one for a decent price other than the stealership?

any autoparts store should stock the filter, and yes, since you have the pan off and the fluid drained, replace the filter now, no need to do a halfassed job

Alright cool thanks. I figured they would have had the tranny pan too, but they didnt, I had to order one from a website. O'Reilly wanted $82 for one, and I got it online for $16 + shipping
