Cam me, maybe?

06 SS/NA with K&N and zzp header with cat. I was wanting to go SC but Since I am in university its a bit out of my price range, I thought about just getting a trifecta tune but ZZP's cams grabbed my attention.

So Would it be a good Idea with my current mods to Get a set of these cams? Has anyone else thrown ZZPs's cams in? Lastly Will it require a tune right away or can a tune wait for a while?

Id save for boost. Cams + valve springs = at least halfway to supercharger set up

along with the trouble to time it and price to get them installed and the minimal gains, save for forced induction

edit: and yes, you would need a tune which would cost you at least 200

^^^^ yes if the 2 first letters in your engines code began with LS. Not so much on an ecotec.

cost of cams itself is almost worth the gains. but then you gotta figure out a new timing set along with valve springs and install + tune... might give you 10-15whp but you could spend double the amount of that and supercharge on a budget for around 60-70whp...

My personal suggestion is BOOST. And a lot of it!

you're right.

The mantra around here is that you don't have to open the engine up... but for the best results you always need to open the engine up.
I seem to recall GM Performance divisions made way beyond 200hp on a 2.2L

I have yet to read of anyone opening up an LE5 and posting their results, but am flabberghasted that the LE5 (to date) hasn't made 200whp whie staying naturally aspirated... mostly because the engine GM used before the ecotec - could make 200whp w/o too much fuss...
(not that many did it ~ and most who did did alot more than the bare minimum)
