cant get oil cap off

OKay i have a 2008 sport and I can't get oil cap off. It turns and then just locks. It feels as if I give it any more force it will break. This is my first car so seriously don't give me crap for this. I want to know how to take this thing off. It's like locked on there. thanks.

After it "turns" did you try pulling?

It doesn't screw off, it unseats and then can be lifted off...
