Unhappy Check Engine Light

So with all the mods, my engine light finally came on. The problem I was most worried about wasn't the cause. I was so worried about running lean. Not it. My computer was saying that cylinders 1 and 4 were misfiring, and was even showing a misfire while the dealer had it hooked up. So, we just kinda scratched our heads and reset it. That was Thursday. Now today, saturday, the light came back on. Not quite sure what to do now. The dealer said to bring it back, i'm going to tell them to put in a new ecm and see what that does, because the car obviously is not misfiring. I just thought it was funny, it took about 3 weeks for the light to come on initially and after it was reset it only took 2 days to come back on. Oh well, luckily the dealer is cool with the mods and told me that I won't have to take them off, but they did reccomend that if there is a tuner available for the vvt and ecm to use it and that should help. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions or reccomendations let me know. Appreciate it.

Just to ask, what kind of fuel are you running? The owners manual says that the 2.0L and 2.4L recomended fuel is 91 octane or higher. If you are running 87 octane ( cheap gas ) you are cloging up your injectors, and your sensors. That could be the BIG reason wht your CEL stays on. It is not the mods you have done to your car, no matter what the dealer says. Try running a high octane fuel cleaner, and run 1 tank of 91 octane fuel, or higher, and see what that does.

OK, you had a misfire on cyl's 1+4. The misfire was present, and they did nothing but clear the DTC? No injector balance test, spark test? Why? A misfire allowed to continue will destroy the cat.

No it was obviously not misfiring. The car was idling smooth and even under load it was dead still. I run the highest grade gasoline in my car. Not sure the number and it varies at some stations. The mods I have are listed on my signature for anyone who is curious. Apparently though the computer was just having a brain fart. It went back off yesterday. I dunno maybe I just got a bad batch of go go juice.
