check engine light

ok so i just posted the other day about my transmission. but now i got another problem. the check engine light came on last night when i was driving around, i went and got it checked today and the code is 174 which is the air fuel ratio. they said that im getting to much air in the mixture. what could it be? i know there are a million things that it could be just trying to do process of elimination

Is that the too lean or too rich code? I can't remember. Anyways check for leaks, injectors, etc. Could be anything and probably something simple.

Start with your MAF sensor, take it out and clean it with maf cleaner. Next check for a vaccum leak, just make sure all of your intake pieces post maf are clamped tight. If still nothing make sure there are no leaks at the intake manifold/injectors like said above. Just put your hand near while at idle or a small hose with your ear at the other end to listen for any small leaks. If there is one at the injectors then pull the leaky one, put oil on the seal and put it back in. After that the only other possible thing you could do would be to check the primary o2 sensor, the one in the header. I would just go ahead and replace it. If still nothing the only other thing I could think would be leaky valve seals, which is very bad but also rare in cobalts. Good luck!

I have this problem with my SS/SC. p0171 Lean code. Its caused by 3in zzp CAI.
