I put a 180 in mine and it didnt do anything, it still opens up at 217 and kick the fans on "computer controlled".
During a cold idle it hangs around 180- 185 for awhile, but its gonna run your normal 195-200 when you start driving....=waste of time! Dont do it! save your $20.

Hurts performance too.

The VVT doesn't activate fully until 195*s.

Where did you get this information???

I've looked through the factory service manual and nowhere does it state the temperature of the engine determines operation of the VVT. As soon as oil pressure is up after starting the engne the VVT begins to work.

That has more to do with letting the engine get up to operating temperature, not the VVT control.

i wont touch the thermostat...no point.

190-200*F is the optimal operating temp.
