coolant additive

i bought this royal purple ice radiator super coolant additive, and I'm reading that it should be used in new radiators until anti-freeze has been cycled through the system. My car is 4 months old, so does this mean I can't use it yet? Also do I put like the whole bottle in?

read the instructions as far as how much to put in, i've never used it, but i do use royal purple oil, and will use it in my tranny when i change tohe oil in there. im pretty sure that the anit-freeze in your car has circled enough times in 4 months to be ok, haha.

it says use only one ounce per quart capacity of your automotive cooling system or 1 bottle per system (up to a 20 quart system.) So which is it?

how much coolant does your car take. look in your owners manual, it'll say how much coolant is in your system. just read bro, trust me you'll be ok.

in the future, look at what your buying and learn something about it before you spend your money. it's save you a lot of time.

Same product as Red Line Water Wetter. It's a lubricant that lowers the surface tension of water. I used to use it in my Mustang. Use the whole bottle.

just be careful dex-cool /dextron is some goofy ****.. if if you add a no dextron friendly additive to it it will clump up like jello.

ok first of all I don't have the aluminum cap yet and its not fake aluminum its real its from MRZ performance. look all I want to know is if I add this its going to go past the "fill line" I want to know if that is ok that question hasn't been answered. and no I have no idea what type of antifreez or the mixture that is in there cause its what came from the dealer originally

I believe all new GM's come with Dexcool. A little bottle of that stuff isn't enough to significantly raise the level in the reservoir.

It most likely says right on the bottle that it's safe with Dexcool.

Why do you need it on a stock 2.4 cobalt? Just curious. If you are overheating you have other issues.
