I'm not sure that he'll be going to the dyno with that setup.

It worked better than right... it worked awesome. It just needed a new turbo which is on its way to my door as we speak, and a new oil line which is sitting at home. I want to buy a motorcycle though, so I'm thinking of selling this for the cash if there's any interest in it.

You can pick this up for almost half the price of the Hahn kit. While it wasn't dynoed, the car should make more power than a Hahn Stage II setup simply based on the size of the turbo. Going by the numbers and videos I've seen of a Hahn Stage II setup, I'd guess that this setup did truly make more power. First gear was all wheelspin, and most of second gear was wheelspin as well... on 7-8psi.

The entire setup was pricey simply because I used nothing but top notch, brand new parts:
- Turbonetics Turbo
- GReddy Type RS BOV (venting to atmosphere for those that like to hear their CBV)
- TiAL 38mm Wastegate
...to name a few.

Plus, all of the custom fabrication work is already done. The custom exhaust manifold is already welded. The wastegate dump tube is fabricated. The 3" stainless steel downpipe with flex pipe is already welded. The charge piping was already fit (reusing the Injen CAI pipe with the MAF sensor mount). The intercooler was fit in the front. All of the expensive shop work is out of the way. I hate to sell it just because I'm impatient, but I think I might... a bike is just really high on my wanted list right now.

Didn't miss anything. Turned out to have a problem with the turbo (was told it was a manufacturer defect). It was making noise and was sent in for replacement under the warranty. I returned the car to stock for the meantime until the turbo came back. Now I want a bike (in addition to getting my own place)... and money has to come from somewhere. I'm not 100% sure that I'll sell it... but if the price is right I might part ways.

PpAzZ1101, congrats!

I'd love to see witt's tune as an example, or maybe witt can further comment on some of the problems faced durring the tune? Such as the PE TPS enable(for part throttle boost), or having to kill the air flow tables so the pcm relies on the MAF/MAP rather then the VE? closed loop issues?

Ditto, I would love to see the tune.

I hope you keep the kit though.

oh ok....i was wondering...how reliable is your tune?....i mean will it work for a while then take a **** on you or will it work for a long time?

Well I can't tell you that it ran for a long time with no problems, it was only on the car for a short period of time. However, as far as tuning goes, it was a safe and reliable tune. The AFR was dead-on (and a little on the safe side). The car fueled exactly how we wanted it to. As for the transmission, the temperature kept well within what we considered a "safe" range. We never saw trans temps higher that were higher than any reached while the car was naturally aspirated... so that speaks to the transmission cooler's ability to keep temps down as well as the tuning.

And speaking of temperatures, talk about an efficient turbo/intercooler setup! We saw IATs around 75 degrees and the intercooler was always cool to the touch.

so then its safe to say that this tune would probably have been a reliable tune for a decent amount of time most likely......i always heard the vvt is untuneable.....so then how did you all manage to tune it and not have vvt mess it up...?.....is this tune good enough to be used anywhere or is it more tuned for you regional conditions and things like that?.....basically im saying can you take this tune anywhere on the east coast and have it work just fine or does it require tweaking?

also would a manual require a transcooler.....and when it comes to the piping im guessing you took it somewhere and had it custom bent?.....also what intercooler did you go with?.....hell maybe it would just be easier if you made up a parts list

You mean do the work for you? No. Took months of planning and a lot of money... and even more work. I'm not going to just give it away while I'm trying to sell the kit.

As for the tune, the tune was reliable and would've worked long term on the car. I felt 100% safe on that tune... and I know it made decent power.

He asked for a parts list and was also asking for the tune.

Last time I checked, there were only two other 2.4L owners on this site with a turbo setup... Bill Hahn and Celicacobalt. They are both running the Hahn kit. Mine IS the only custom 2.4L turbo setup on this site. And if I'm trying to sell it, then why the hell would I give a complete parts list and the tune to somebody else? No offense, but it wasn't your place to step in there.

Back on topic please.

lmao chill the **** out dude.....at no point did i say please make a parts list....thats where your first mistake was made....i merely said maybe it would be easier to make a parts list...2nd of all....i didnt not say hey can i have your tune...i said you wouldnt want to share your tune would you.....thats where your second mistake was.....parts list isnt hard...i can do that....i was thinking maybe a convienience(sp?) thing for other people.....apparently not.....i mean **** if you really want to hold out and not share your secrets thats fine....once someone does buy your kit they just pirate your tune and everyone will know what it is.....i was just asking a few simple question....no need to turn into a "im the only one who knows how to reliably turbo a 2.4" asshat.....chill out damn...
