ecu tune vs unichip
ecu tune vs unichip
sorry i am new to the car industry but which is more beneficial for power/reliability, an ECU tune or a unichip?
or am i a complete idiot and they are the exact same thing

an ecu is ok for the normal bolt ons but will not extract all the power possible if you were specifically dyno tuning your car, a piggyback ecu would be great since you could custom tune that yourself or have a professional do it to your car

ECU tune would be the ultimate, however it can only be flashed with the appropriate equipment and will not take into consideration new mods unless reflashed again.
Unichip or E-manage is a piggy-back controller that modifies the ECU signals to extract the most out of your engine. This can be done with a laptop or normal computer instead, which allows for easier tuning for every mod you do. Right now, this would be the way to go if someone made a plug and play harness for them.

Mine's coming soon. 657 miles on it now. I'll be sending it once I get it inspected this weekend.

ok so have you tested when you kill t/c how does the car shift is it a hrad shift or a normal feeling shift? my t/c has gone out on me before and when it does the car is really fast but the shift changes are very hard...

Ideally for oddball combos an ECM tune fine tuned with a piggyback would be a good idea. But so far we have calibrations for Stock cars, Intake and Exhaust cars and even turbos
