This was discussed before (years) and sounds plausible - however, since the problem is intermittant it seems logical that it is the knock sensor. Best way to tell would be to have a computer hooked up and watched while you are driving. I have a small code reader that records 19 seconds of data at a time and mine showed the timing retarded.

thing about that though is everyone who complains of this issue, is not tuned. Ones that are tuned, have not complained of this issue.

Thought i would give an update. I removed the main plastic piece that covers the motor in hoping it would help with the heat soak and it most deffinately has. Car hasnt heat soaked once since, im sure it still will in heavy stop and go traffic, but it used to heatsoak so easy it was crazy.

So anyone else having a problem with heatsoak, remove the top plastic and see if it makes it better.

Go with a cold air. I have the OEM intake on my s/c SS and it works wonders when farting around in traffic for hours.

It still runs hot as **** though, IAT2 wise.

And if i did do a lot of stop and go traffic i probably would have invested into a CAI, but i live 5 min from work and rarely do any driving in heavy traffic. Once in awhile hit some light traffic when heading to a friends place a few towns over, I dont live in the city luckily. Thats why i shocked me this thing was heat soaking so easy, its not even that warm out and i barely was hitting traffic and it was still heatsoaking lol.

All well, solved that problem, we will see how it does track season in the summer. I will be getting it tuned hopefully this month
