I was wondering what my 2.4 would sound like with out the exhaust. No, I wasn't going to leave it like that, just wanted to see how it sounded. If I just undo the two bolts at the flange in the middle of the car, would it throw any codes or wud it be fine

 

it probably would throw a code but it wouldn't effect much. 2, it will sound like crap, 3 check youtube.

I dont think it would throw any codes. The only could I could imagine would be excessive flow through the o2 sensor, indicating that the cat isn't working, but since what you're disconnecting is well after that o2 sensor, I don't think it will happen.

But it will be loud as hell

 

theres this new phenominon called youtube... idk what it is but i heard you can look up any exhaust system on any car and theres probly a video of it... far out right

 

Thanks for the replies from the serious ones. Some of you don't need to post if Ur gonna be an ass. It was just a simple yes or no question about wud it throw a code. YouTube isn't that great. Doesn't sound even close to what it sounds like in person

 

It will sound like ****. And I agree about youtube. It never sounds the same as in person.
Go to a exhaust shop and ask them how much it would cost to do a exhaust on your car. Ask around. I got my exhaust done for under 300 and it sounds good to me. Cuz that's all that matters in the end.

 

Ok so I hav another question. I'm having trouble finding this but could anyone post a video or something of the zzp midlength header and downpipe with hi flow cat on the stock exhaust. With the 2.5 in piping not the 3 in. That's what I'm having trouble with finding. All the videos I find are the 3in. Piping with a Megan exhaust. I just want to know how loud it is. I really don't want something real loud. A little louder or deeper is alright but dont want something u can here from a mile away.lol. Thanks

sorry man didn't notice the codes q, but seriously what im i gonna say about sound questions "its sounds good"?

anywho i've heard vibrant systems before, those sound good. if you want something just a little louder but mostly stock gmpp is probly ur best best. also bad mab header is a really god deal for a little more 'tone'. none of these are crackly fart canny raspy rice rocket sounding exhaust components.

 

It will sound like any other 4cyl thats running straight pipes. It will be loud and give you a big head ache lol. It's fun to toy around with for a few minutes but it gets old quickly.

I was under the impression you were going to run an open downpipe.. If that is what you are going to do then yes it will be loud.

 

Oh, no,no,no. My bad. My first post was me just wanting to know what it would sound like if I just took the exhaust off at the flange but I wasn't actually going to leave it like that. After reading the post of others, I realized that it wasn't worth the hassle. But my last question was is the zzp midlength header and downpipe loud on the stock exhaust because I can't find a video with the zzp on the stock exhaust. I just want to hear how loud it is. My bad. But the question was still never answered or no video posted.

 

No it wont sound loud at all. It will sound more aggressive from the front of the car and the tone outback will only be slightly louder.
