got some valvetrain questions
I know that since I'm running 14psi that I need to upgrade valve springs. Well my friend is selling me valve springs, retainers, and +1mm valves from patriot performance. I don't really know much on gains from upgrading valvetrain, I know for sure that its gonna be stronger but will I see any hp gains from this. I've been trying to find good reading material on the internet but I can't find anything that gets down into detail.

Ummm you don't need to upgrade the valve train cause your running 14lbs of boost. You need upgrade valve train if you plan to run any hight that 7,000 Roma cause you have a high chance of floating a valve around 7,300rpms or higher.
Then a gain you have a 2.4 and I just noticed that my bad brotha I keep thining you got the 2.0

ZZP didnt worry about upgrading the valve springs in their turbo 2.4 until they were into the mid 300 hps range which your not close to so i dont see why you should be worrying about them at this point

I'm running a 2.8, I plan on getting meth with income tax along with some other bolt ons. I won't be installing the valves and all those goodies until after may 1st. I would install them now but I don't want any horror stories before the lone star bash that is coming up.

Springs are a good idea anytime you start running higher boost and/or more RPMs.(stock springs are, well stock. LOL)
Not sure if you are aware of this or not but you cant just "install" +1mm valves......
You have to have the valve seats machined to accept them. this means taking the head off, completely disassembling it and going to a machine shop.

yeah my friend works for a chevrolet dealership, and when I take the head off he is gonna take it to work and send it to the machine shop they use and they only charge 160 to assemble the head and do what they gotta do for the valves. I'm also gonna buy arp head bolts as well, when time comes to put this all together.
