Hahn RaceCraft 2.4 Cobalt TurboSystem
Hahn, if there is any way you could email me (well_of_souls245@yahoo.com) some info on what exactly comes with the kit please(intercooler? what type of BOV? etc etc. I drive a 5 spd.), I tried checking the site and couldn't find anything. I'm impressed with what I see! I hope to hear good news about the financing situation as well. By the way, is the price of the boostfueler included? If not, how much is it? Might it be easier to go with HPTuners? I don't know if the last questions have been asked yet or not, sorry.
Ok let me get this straight, Im not to much on this power adders but tell me if i got this straight.
Supercharger- sucks air in and forces it in the combustion chamber for more compression.
Turbo- Hooks to the headers, manifold and forces engine compression back into the engine in the combustion chamber for more compression.

No, not quite
Both turbo and super chargers are methods of forced induction. What that means is a compressor of some sort (there are different kinds) pushes air into the engine rather then the engine pulling air in by itself.
A superchargers compressor is powered by some kind of direct drive from the engine, most often a belt. It can be geared too, but that' usually airplace engines, not cars.
A turbos compressor is powered by a turbine spun from the exhaust gases being pushed out of the engine.
The only real difference is what powers the compressors.
Compression doesn't actually change at all. That's a function of the piston and cylinder combination. The amount of air being compressed within that space however is being much larger.

slight problem for me i think....
heres what the garrett kit I got came with:
GarrettŽ GT2860RS Turbocharger (this is different than the one hahn is using: garret gt2871)
Cast turbo manifold
Cast down pipe
Gaskets and fasteners
Oil and water lines
Attachment hardware
Charge air cooler
Charge air cooler plumbing
Hardware
so, when it comes to me using this tuning from the hahn kit, am i gonna be screwed because of the different turbo?

the tuning willbe a little different, but not by much, i have a GM guy whos been doin the tuning on all the ions/cobalts/OBD1 and 2 here in calgary, who can do it for me relatively cheap.... sso i am STOKED!!
i got someone that'll do a tune on my 2.4L, i'm still probably going to get a procharger unless those track/ dyno numbers sway me.. though it's a good package it's still probably going to be about 1k more than i'd like after all said and done.
I just want to know because the ion gets **** on by the after market.... even though they're such similar cars... and frankly i'd like more of an equal choice

Because all of you guys are so interested, I believe we are going to take the 2.4 auto out to the track Wednesday night for the first time, along with a Solstice GXP. It may just be my dad and I so a video will be hard, but time slips are the next best thing and those will suffice right? We havent dyno-ed my car yet and I think we will be doing that soon too. Thanks to all your interest guys.
We expect to begin taking orders very soon. If you'd like to be on the callback list, contact Brad at 630-553-6830 or sales@turbosystem.com.

I Have read this thread from start to finish and I still have not heard if there are going to be stage kits for this system offered to the 2.4 MANUAL owners. Also,is the turbo capable of supplying efficient boost at higher psi. The super 16 turbo stage 2 Solstice MANUAL, stage 4 super 20G turbo. You said you did not see 400-500hp autos what does this mean for the MANUAL transmision guys ?People say this motor as is will support 400 + hp and looking at Solstice(Hahn Racecraft)with the kit supplied.Unless I misunderstand, other then what is listed in the kit there are no changes to the motor.I was hoping to see stage kits am I about to be disapointed?
If you and or any other manual 2.4 Cobalt prospects want to discuss this, please pm me and we will begin a dialogue!
