might be more money then you want to spend.....but i got the vibrant 4-2-1 headers with the cat and the vibrant 3 inch exhaust....the exhaust part comes with a 2.5'' dp. this full exhaust in made for each other. great power gains and great sound just a way louder than ever expected. i say the whole vibrant deal.

Personally, I think the 3" collector on the Vibrant header is plain OVERKILL. Even the SS/SC models really don't benefit from a collector that big unless they are heavily modded. A motor as small as ours will be fine with a 2.25"-2.5" collector and exhaust. I have the CA header (2.25" collector) and the CA de-cat downpipe (2.5") and it works well. If I didn't have a header already, i'd probally go w/ the new OBX-R header. Looks sweet as hell. As for downpipes, CA is the most common and probally the best way to go. They are offered in 2.5" (2.2/2.4) and 3" (2.0SS/SC), and in both catted/de-cat versions, depending on whether or not your area has emissions, and how many CEL's you want, lol. I have the de-cat version, and it makes the car sound aggressive as hell, and was $50 cheaper. But the CEL's it produces........jeez. My car needs tuning BAD! No matter what, it wouldnt hurt to tune it after you get a full exhaust, but you'll be fine w/o it.

if you're planning on possibly going turbo, don't bother with a header or downpipe at this point because you'll have to replace both. total waste of money. i would wait untill you know for sure which route your going.

Yes if you get a catless dp then they can turn off the 2nd o2 sensor w/ hp tuners so no mo cel.

No problemo my good man. All I need is to install my SS/SC injectors and tuning, and i'll be all set. But finding someone worthy of sucesfully tuning the 2.4 with HP Tuners...........ahh what a nitemare!!!!

Hey Brandon (or anyone for that matter), quick question. I have the SS/SC injectors and proper harness to run them on hand. Now i've heard the the stock 2.4 injectors are already running pretty close to their limit as it is, and with mods, it only pushes them even more. Is it possible, and better yet, effective, to run the SS/SC injectors w/o tuning? I know some guys are running them with HP Tuners tuning, but is it possible to put them in and drive around without tuning, or will that just throw the engine off? Or, in the opposite scenario, will it help out and open up the fuel system a bit to better compenstate mods such as my CAI? Any help will be greatly appreciated, as I wanna get these injectors out of my room and into my car, and I want some more power...........but dont have a trusty tuner set up just yet.

No don't even think about putting injectors in with out tuning it will hurt it more then do good. If you can find an experience tuner with the ecotecs then chances are you won't need the bigger injectors. With only a CAI, axleback, and a tune Vector said my injectors were fine and weren't seeing high IDC %'s like some have reported. Get ahold of vector motorsports they do canned tunes through the mail.

I might just do that. Is it like SCT where you type to them what you have, and they set up the tune? I've already paid good money ($50, LOL) for my SS/SC injectors, so I might as well put them in w/ a tuning. Can Vector accomodate those? Also, can Vector shut off the O2 sensor your reffering to to clear the CEL? A canned tune just sounds so sketchy b/c every car is different. More info please!

Well you won't be able to use the injectors to the fullest unless your dyno tuned w/ them. Granted you might be able to use someone else tune for the ss/sc injectors as a starting point but they will still need dialed in. Yes they can tune the 2nd o2 sensor off, they can do alot of other things like change the speedo due to different size tires, etc. And as far as canned tunes, they aren't the best and won't net you the best results, but if you are unable to find a tuner thats local its a good alternative. With a dyno tune you'd see more power but not by a lot. GTP bought he's canned tune from vector and was very happy with it.

Well no matter what, before any tune is implented, im gonna get a dyno session for a baseline at Pro Motion Tuning, in Fredericksburg VA. They tune HP Tuners there, but have NO experience tuning the 2.4. They've only tuned the 2.0SS/SCs, which is why I don't trust them. They tuned my roomates STI, but that was an open ECU tune and they've done that pleny of times. Not to say they cant tune well, but I dont trust someone who's never worked on the 2.4 firsthand. But I could get them to run a baseline dyno, and then get them to perform the Vector tune and go from there. Now with the canned tune from Vector, it all comes pre-set to how you ordered it right? What if something you thought should've worked dosen't? Can the people tuning it alter it at all should something come up? Ahh these canned tunes......I just don't understand them fully.

No i do believe that vector locks their tunes so no other tuners can access it. But once you purchase a tune from vector you can send the ecu back to be changed as much as you want. You let them know of your mods and they will change the settings on the ecu accordingly.

Well i'd still get Pro Motion to run the baseline on the dyno and get them to implement the tune. How do you implement the tune anyways?

You send them your ecu, when they receive it they flash the tune on it and send it out the same day thru next day air. Then you re-install it.

whats their website address again? I looked at it in the past, but forgot the site's address.

nice, thanks man. Good to see they have a specific '07 2.4 tune. I'll probally just pay the extra $200 for the new ECU outright, as i'd probally end up spending that much on a rental car while they have my ECU anyways. Like I said, no backup car, so i'm SOL. However, getting a new ECU........how will that work as far as my current mileage, how my car was broken in, etc etc. Dosen't the ECU I have now hold all of that information?

If you don't want to keep the spare ecu they also have a refundable core option as well. Not sure where mileage info is kept and what not but that shouldn't be a problem as alot of solstice guys went this route. The only thing with getting it on the new ecu is you have to do a crank relearn at the dealer. Get ahold of them and ask those questions though they are great people to work with.

3 inch is to big for our cars. 2.5 is plenty for turbo even. but go with whatever you want. CA header is great bad very hard to install. i can give you tips on how to install it if you get ca header. and CA dp 2.5 highflow cat is great aswell. depending on your state emissions might not apply.

hmm, sounds complicated, lol. I guess I might just go get a damn rental if I decided to do this.

However, i'm still waiting on HP Tuners info. Then going from there.

Naw not complicated, you buy the 200 ecu they ship it to you, and you send your old ecu back for a refund.
