help! bad start up after intake install....

help! bad start up after intake install....

so i have a 2.4 cobalt and i just installed the k&n typhoon. everythings on fine. so i started it up, and it almost sounds like the car is coughing. like it idles very low and sounds like its dying! whats going on??? ugh.

if it helps, i have a header and catless dp. i do have a cel. idk if that could be a reason...

you check maf sensor? or o2 sensor? in case it was move or anything?

did u unplug the battery when you installed it? try unplugging it for a while to reset the ecu, then start it up and let it idle for about 10 mins. if that doesnt work, check your sensors and connections.

so i didnt really think this could happen, but it did. my maf sensor is backwards!!! i didnt make anything of it when i installed the intake, but i called k&n, and they said it wasnt normal. they sent me a shitty intake tube. here are the photos, if you guys are confused onto what i mean. they are sending me a whole new intake kit (hopefully it works after i get this fixed)

haha yeah, he said it happens every 1 in 4000...lucky me! but no, he said he couldn't do it, for some reason idk. i had to wait the whole weekend...

thats crappy. after i installed my cai the check engine light went on then off a few times and does for a little every once in a while. it just doesn't understand why the air/fuel mix is different than the last 4 years lol
