how the hell...?
How the hell do you take off the part of the stock intake that is on the throttle body? Theres a screw type deal there, but nothing happens. Is that it? am I doing something wrong? WTF? I want to clean my throttle body, and plus, come spring, I want to get a CAI anyway. So this'll have to be done...
Thanks!
Thanks!
doubtful that the throttle body needs cleaning, but yeah, loosen, wiggle, yank. the front lip is close to the rad support, but it comes out. in is a little more difficult cause you dont want to have a leak. thats not going to be covered by warranty if you suck er full of dirt.
If you've loosened the clamp at the base and it still won't lift off -- you may have a plastic fastener/rubber bushing on the driver's side of the intake. My 2.2L has/had a plastic fastener going through a rubber bushing just forward of the valve cover. If this is the case, lift up the center keeper and the rest will come out easy. Otherwise, can't think of anything else that would keep you from taking it off.
