Question HP Tuners Questions

G'day. Have been reading and researching but I'm still hazy on one or two things with HPT.
I have an 07 ss/na and I'd like to tune it a little. However, this is a lease and I don't want to screw that up!

My first question is, if I use HPT and before tuning take an "image" of my stock tune and put this back before returning (or failing to tune) will a GM tech be able to tell it was ever messed with? Is there a flag or switch in the PCM that will forever be changed?

Second question is, if I get a second PCM from a wreck and use HPT on it (a workaround for question one) will this get around any VIN issues?

I found a few threads that touch upon these subjects but nothing really definitive.

Thanks in advance to all replies.
Tom

(It was a toss up whether to post this here or in the Tuning section. This section has a bit more traffic so it won.)

as far as the lease goes i dont know how all that works i buy vehicles. but i think if say your running injectors and tune then yes you will have to tune. and if the dealer looks at the computer they might see it like my computer has a lot of things turned off and switched. i wouldnt see why not that you could save a stock pcm ecm whatever it is. then revert depends what your gonna run. and if your not runnin anything what are you tunning auto trans.

^^ I have a manual. I'm going to be adding at least I/H/E, just simple boltons for now. From what I've been reading the 2.4s take really well to less restrictive breathing mods.

I have access to an m62 and the aftercooler/intake (parts etc). I would like to be able to bolt that up!
