i searched and could not find help. probalby wasnt looking in the right place but oh well. anyway, i am probably getting the gmpp catback soon for my birthday and i was planning on buying the CA headers and xtc 2.5 downpipe. Will i run into any fitment issues? how can i go around this if it does. i really dont care about what dp i get, but i really wanted the CA header. What should i do haha i dont really know much so someone with more knowledge help me out please.

If you want a true bolt on set up then you need the GMPP manifold and the GMPP cat back. Any other combo will nedd custom exhaust work, but its no big deal! You should have a couple local shops that can help you out for a couple hundred bucks.

Good luck!

No man, you won't have any fitment issues. It'll bolt right up. The CA header and B-pipe are direct replacement parts with the same length and bolt pattern as stock. They even come with gaskets, bolts and studs.

You will probably have a problem getting the old exhaust manifold loose from the factory b-pipe. Just use lots of penetrant and elbow grease. Don't be afraid to twist off a stud - I broke 2 of mine off. CA gives you replacements.

so i can buy the CA header and xtc 2.5 dp and have no issues with it bolting up to the gmpp catback? does this still hold true if i were to just bolt the header and dp to the stock exhaust? basically what i want to know is if i just do these parts one by one throughout the next few months as i get money, will i have problems with fitments with any aftermarket and stock things bolting up together

nope, nope, and nope. they are made to bolt up to any aftermarket exhaust and our stock catback exhaust. good luck! the c/a header put down 10whp on a 2.4hhr, gmpp exhaust dynoed 12whp on a 2.2 motor. and a downpipe will give u prolly around 5-10whp. our stock exhaust is really restrictive. u will see some good gains.

Wait so your saying a gain of about 20 to 30 hp is possible? Hoooly crap! Or am I reading that wrong?

HOLY CRAP! So wait let me make sure I'm right here.... I have a 2.4 SS with the GMPP intake already on it and the GMPP manifold, I'm figuring right around 180 maybe 185 hp is what I have now. So if I ditch the manifold slap on a header, a high flow cat and the GMPP cat back I could be looking at a realistic 200hp to 210hp out of my 2.4? And thats BEFORE DOC tunes it!?!? So in theroy I should be able to hang with a showroom stock SS/Sc car? If this is true then I know what I'll be doing this summer! With DOC's tune maybe 215hp is possible! HOLY CRAP!

And all this in a sedan! Talk about a sleeper!

dude, if you even hit 215 crank power id be pissed but happy for you, you wont get that much outa it, think of those numbers as possibilities, you wont get the full 10 from the header say, maybe 8, the exhaust, maybe 10, and the down pipe, another 7-8,

add it all up and you'll be where im at at wheel power, minus the intake of course

You can probably see an overall gain of 10-15 hp from the whole setup (wheel) so it's not a bad deal. and yes it is all bolt on to factory locations.. only issue may be the coolant crossover pipe, but you can rotate in towards the block to gain clearance. in the over 12 I've installed, I haven't had that issue yet, so it should be easy

Umm just wanna throw it out there; Altitude, Tire size, weight in the car, is going to counter or null those arbitrary HP gains. It may be proven that a part gives 'x-y' HP but in test conditions. Consider what you want the car to do, more torque for acceleration, more HP for Top end, cause theres compromises to it all.

An indepth article : http://www.quickhonda.net/exhaust.htm

*NOTE*
Non SS models have both O-2 sensors in the down pipe, where as the SS models have 1 O-2 in the Header and one in the Downpipe.
If replacing the header and doing all that work, its worth it to change the downpipe as well.

I'll be buying the www.zzperformance.com Header with downpipe package

Model:With Cat bolt in for 2.5 exhaust
Option 1:With Gaskets
Option 2:Add O2 bung for wideband A/F meter
Option 3:Ceramic Coated header
$623.99

My 2.4 auto with I/H/E and tune (less e-rams) dynos at 136whp on a dyno dynamics dyno.

With e-rams it's at 142whp. That's good for a 15.35 1/4 mile on a bad day (wet track-no traction.)

Some dyno's read very low, others read high - they are all different.

Note: I just increased the voltage to the e-rams from 12.65v to 14.5v (from 20,400rpm - 28krpm e-ram speed), so it should do a little better now. I'll post up when it's dyno'd with the new setup (after I add nitrous too - both with and without).

EDIT: LewiSS dyno'd his stock at 124.6. Then added a GM intake and a through the hood scoop and picked up 9whp.

Ok so knocking on the door of 200hp then, with DOC's tune I should be there right? I know what I'm doing this summer!

remember. you dont "add up" the HP of parts.

it doesnt work like that

150hp base
intake (12hp)
Exhaust (12hp)
Header (10hp)
DP (10hp)

does not make a 194hp car.
