Was the car still in the stages of warming up, or was it well up to temp?
What was the outside temperature and weather conditions?

Mine has done that once in a while since new. Never does it when I take it in (3 times so far), no codes set.

And yeah, it feels like either the throttle snapping shut for a split second or someone spiking the brake real quick. Seemed to be associated with blowing snow but did it again about 6 weeks or so ago, nice day, no snow.

If you get an answer please share....this kind of **** makes me nuts

Easy test for slipping clutch......

Get out on the highway, cruising in 5th gear maybe 2200 rpm or so.
When safe to do so, walk on it. Right to the mat. If the revs spike up real sudden then your clutch is slipping.

But it does not sound like the clutch to me. Do you feel it lurch a bit, kind of throw you forward in the seat when it happens? That's what mine is doing.

If it bucks, it could be a fuel cut.

Your fuel pump might be goin out.

MAF leak, or your air filter gets clogged with snow. had a similar problem in snow, and had a similar problem when the maf wasn't sealed nicely.

If your oil cap wasnt sealed all the way youd hear a air leak sound when the engines running from around the cap.

would that cause the like jerks from the engine? could lugging the engine cause this? or is it more likely the clutch?

i've been in cars with a clutch that slips...it doesnt "buck" like he describes...but slips..then grabs...

a buck is like....gas..quick hard brake..gas....

Or...if you want a better idea...get into a manual car..

put it in first....give it a little gas...and dump the clutch...the car will stall..but that is a buck.

Check your filter make sure it's not wet. Sounded like it was about to stall when it did that right? Your filter might be wet.

take it to the dealership again.

Tell them to scan the car for codes.

Tell them to figure out what its happening.

hey guys just baught my 06 cobalt ss 2 days ago and mine seems to be doing the samething every now and then. It only has 16k. but mine also seems to be loseing power. Like when going threw the rpms at full throttle (mainly in 3rd) it feels like im constantly letting up and then flooring it again, but the peddle is to the floor. but then theres times when its perfectly fine and goes threw the rpms smooth with a steady pull. is this normal? it goes in wensday to see whats up but i have no codes. btw its always at operating tempature and nice out when it does it.
