Lightbulb I need Help! 2.4 SS Auto.

I don't know if i want to s/c or t/c my 07 2.4 so the best thing to do is compare total cost. So dose anyone know about full S/C kits, and T/C kits?

I would go with a turbo if you're wanting to go with power. If you're wanting to go with cheapest then go with the S/C.

There isn't a full S/C kit on the market yet so you'll still have to piece it out. It will cost less to supercharge it however the trick is finding all the parts.

...zzp sells a full (being intercooled that is, or unintercooled for 2k) turbo kit for 2600.

Go out and take the SS/TC and SS/SC for a test drive and see what you prefer

I know there are so many differences between the LSJ.. LNF.. and LE5 but you at least get a rough example of how a turbo or supercharger feels like. I've driven a bunch of cars that are in our club. That's how I came to prefer the SC

I did my M62 install with full bolt-ons and lots of extra goodies for $100 less than that and I'd be disappointed if I didn't at least scrape together close to 250 whp.

Really, it comes down to how tech-savvy are you and how much help do you have to do the install? I consider myself to be pretty good with a wrench, having done most of the modding on my Jeep myself, but the M62 install still challenged me and my brother (who is equally savvy) over the 3-day weekend that we took to do everything.

It's also important to know what you want out of the vehicle once you're done. If you look at the powerband on dyno ZZP posted for the $2k kit, you'll notice that you'll be making stock-like horsepower below 4k rpms.

as a comparison. there's two boosted 2.4s in my car club

my buddy went sc.

i went turbo

my setup cost me a lil under 2k in full.. thats gauges, kit, tuning everything.

his cost him around 2500 iirc. he'll prolly chime in later..

it all depends where u find the deal. we both got most of the parts off the classifieds here and bought the misc items we need from zzp, ottp, ttr, and ebay

I think you misread the dyno graph. The X axis of the graph is in MPH, not RPM, which explains why you might have thought it didn't make any power below 4K RPM.

Yeah youre right, theres no turbo kits, I think the only way to get a kit is to buy a Duramax truck.

Theres at least 6 different turbo kit variations on the market I can think of the top of my head.

Theres a full S/C kit, it just doesnt come with a heat exchanger or pump.

You cant compare the cost of a used SC kit to the price of a new turbo kit.......well you guys apparently can but thats because you dont mean "compare prices" you mean "i need the cheapest **** I can find"
