Injen CAI concern
I need an answer for an issue that I'm having.........I installed a INJEN CAI on my 2.4L SS about 6 months ago and ever since my Traction Control Disabled Light comes on. It does this when I let the car sit and idle 10+ minutes or if my coolant temp goes above 190
It won't go away until I turn the motor off and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
When this light comes on, the car will also shift hard. I don't hear anything that would make me think there is a serious problem, becuase when the light goes off everything is back to normal.
Funny thing is when the lights on, I actually feel like I'm getting more power to the wheels.
Is the ECU trying to compensate for hard driving? Dunno.....:/

That sounds like a loose fuse or something non-intake related. The intake is not going to effect your transmission at all... it can't happen. The ECU also cannon "compensate" for hard driving... dosen't happen.
My 2.4 auto would do that every now and then when I had it. I hated the traction control... so I liked it when it was off. Never took it in to figure out the problem.
Take it to the dealer and see what they say.

Makes sense, but how would you turn off TC since there isn't a toggle for it.
Dealership checked it 2 weeks ago again, and could not get the light to come on, no answers.
Just doesn't make any sense why this would happen when the temperature increases.
Could it be a problem with the MAF sensor heating up in the engine bay??? Why would that have an affect on the TC????

No...
I was the first person on here to put an intake on a 2.4... way back in 2005 when they first hit the market... when noone knew what a "regular" SS Cobalt was. The intake ain't your problem.
The TC is a transmission thing... nothing with the engine is gonna make it come on... your intake will not effect the transmission.
you can manually disable the TC by putting the car in "L" that will turn it off if you are racing or something and don't want it to kick in... there is no other override for it.

The MAF has somethign to do with the TC because when i switched to my GMPP intake the TC light came on at first too. Ive also got a system that hooks on to the MAF and taps into the ecu and changes my shift point on the auto and changes fuel/air ratio. When i run that TC light comes on too but the car is def. faster without it. SO i think it has something to do with the MAF
My previous car threw a code that was read to be "Limp Home Mode" where the ECU did something to the car so that it wouldnt F it up. But in regards to the post, if you have had CEL's in the past, the codes should be stored in the ECU and the dealship should be able to pull those codes, otherwise i dont believe you are getting a true CEL. There might be a short somewhere. But even then, these cars now should be able to code almost any kind of issue. Try pulling the NEGATIVE terminal off of your battery for about 15 minutes to reset the codes in the ECU, if there are any stored. Be sure you leave it off for atleast 15 minutes so that the memory on the ECU has time to drain its charge, there by resetting any codes stored in it. Then hook your Negative terminal back up and take it for a spin and see if you still get the same issue. If you get the CEL, right away take the car to a place like "Auto Zone" and have them read the codes in your ECU. That would give you an idea as to where the code is coming from.
