ATTN All 2.2 & 2.4 Cobalts and Ions

ATTN All 2.2 & 2.4 Cobalts and Ions

Ok, as some of you may or may not know I have a 2004 Saturn Ion REDLINE. The big difference between my redline and others though is that mine dont run just playing. No the big difference is that I have with the help of others created the first ecotec Hybrid engine to go into a production Saturn Ion REDLINE. the bottom end of the engine is a 2.4L LE5 ECOTEC engine and the top end belogs to the 2.0L LSJ ECOTEC engine. Anyway to make a long story short. The LE5 crankshaft flange has a 6 bolt pattern on the flywheel and the LSH has a 8 bolt pattern. Spec is willing to make me a clutch and flywheel that will work with the LE5 bolt pattern and the Ion REDLINE transmission which is much stronger then the transmission that comes in the Ion Q/C and Cobalt SS N/A and the regular 5 speed cobalt. anyway my proposition is for those of you who were or are thinking that they wouldnt mindupgrading thier transmission to the REDLINE/Cobalt SS Supercharged transmission. This could be your chance to get a flywheel that will work for you. Spec said in order for them to make this happen they need a committment of 10 people. I'm looking for 9 people that will SERIOUSLY want to do this I STRESS SERIOUSLY. you would be looking at about 350 bucks. If not I'll probably end up with 9 extra flywheels. I'm attempting to not put such a dent in my pocket.

So the only problem i would run into attempting to put the SS tranny in my car would be the flywheel? Are you positive, because i've wanted to swap to the F35 tranny VERY BADLY but was told it would be WAYYY too much work. **** if the flywheel is the only thing holding us back then IM IN. I can pick up a F35 tranny for pretty cheap with like 4k miles on it...

I love the gearing on the F35 compared to the F23.... Would make my car soo much more fun to drive, instead of shifting every 2 seconds...

^yes, the flywheel is a major thing holding you back from getting a F35. The flywheel is larger, thicker, and has a different bolt pattern and tooth count.

(im helping MVP with his build)

There may be other differences, i.e. shifter cable lengths and VSS sensor location. thats all i can think of off the top of my head...

this is a great deal, not just for the 2.2/2.4L guys...but also for the guys with a LSJ that want to stroke their motor with the LE5 crank.

so, lets get somthing together guys, lets see some people step up and stroke out their motors!

The shift linkage and whatnot im not worried about, i can get all that **** from a wrecked ss. So its a 100% that it will be $350 for the flywheel? How heavy? Can we make it a bit heavier then what the fadanza is? Trying to keep the DD a DD lol

^it would be equivalent to the current flywheel available from Spec, just a different bolt pattern to allow the 2.2/2.4 crank.
