Injen intake rattle?

Hey gang,
I recently installed the Injen intake on my G5 GT....Got a couple questions for you. Has anyone else experienced a pretty loud rattle when they turn on their car, coming from the wheel well, made by the intake? Also if anyone else has an extremely tight fit with their intake, rubbing when it enters the wheel well and just above the headlight? thanks guys...oh and maybe a possible fix?

I dont have the rattle but i do have the fitment problem. I had to stuff a rag in the hole to stop the rubbing. On top of that the bracket with the rubber bung the thread part snapped so thats no longer usable All in all poor fitment and quality on the bracket. Sounds angry as hell though Just put the hydro shield on it yesterday aswell.

Yah, it does sound great. But pretty loud rattle on startup I guess from engine moving a lot..but then nothing after that..I guess I will have to deal with it...

Could be that the rattle you here is the intake piping hitting the car somewhere (?) Just a thought. does it rattle when you rev it hard?

Yes that's what it is I believe, mainly hear it when I initially start the engine. Doesn't seem to be noticeable when I step on it...and Sometimes when I turn my wheels all the way to the left it vibrates the intake in the wheel well...Infact I know it's rubbing the body of the car, where it enters the wheel well and as well just after the first elbow to the right of the headlight..Just checking if anyone else has problems with this intake being such a tight fit, and if they did anything to fix the problem? and free up some space for engine movement?

Mine does rattle, only on start up. Funny you should post this, i just noticed it today and it's been on a while. I put a piece of 2 sided tape on the the pipe where it was touching the body and that helped...

i bet it's the piping hitting/rubbing against the hole going into the wheel well

Probably hitting the car. The two spots I had trouble with were right in the front where a little piece of metal juts out and in the hole where it enters by the splash guard.

Yah I'm having troubles at those spots as well, where the body of the car curves above the headlight, as well as the whole where the resonator was...bugger...Should I just convert it to SRI? Would I still get the same sound? and Will it affect performance at all?

Great thanks, I'll look it up! I mean on one side of the tubing there is loads of room, but then the other side it basically resting against the body of the car, it sucks.

i re-adjusted all the fittings starting from the TB. it's a guessing game, but i actually got it to work.

and the rubber spacer thinger (how retarded looking it may be) actually does sorta work.
