"Ive read that the GMPP intake does not perform as well because it breathes from a crappy filter as well as the bottem of the stock air box. Does this mean if one was to remove the crappy filter and the bottem of the stock air box that it would perform as well as the others?"

"WOW I have the SAME exact question on my mind. ANYONE answer this amazing question? I just replaced my crap GMPP filter with Fujita f5, is removing the bottom of stock air box worthy?"

as do i ?

So for my first post EVER to cobaltss.net I decided to ask a properly newbish question. Are there any fitment issues when installing a 2.2 intake on a 2.4? I am looking at the AEM or Injen and just wanted to know if anyone could tell me what to expect. Also who is having CEL's. Thanks for any help at all you can provide and thanks for everythin up until this point. This site has taught me A LOT about my car.

Well I just installed my AEM 2.2 cold air on my 2.4 and gotta say I love it, sounds mean! For anyone doing this I wanted to let you all know that for better fitment I drilled another hole (OUCH) about an inch back from the existing hole. Fits PERFECT!

Hm, I didn't have to drill any extra holes for my AEM to fit my 2.4. It just fit right on and I was good to go.

Yeah I was hoping for that but the 90 degree silicone peice was off on mine so I drilled, might have been a one time case hopefully but I love it regardless and am glad to have the dryflow!

I mean if its that big a deal, nothings wrong with the GMPP intake either. They all basically do the same thing.

i think its less of a hassle if you just get the gm product so it's warranted with the car

An important thing to remember is that it's ONLY warrantied if THEY install it.

With the whole warrenty thing, if you run into any problems due to your intake, just put your stock intake back in before you go the dealership. I'm going to get an Injen CAI in a few hours myself, and thats my plan if ever i need to take my car in. Kinda hectic but it works :p

I've read numerous places that getting an intake improves gas mileage. Does anybody know this for a fact and if so what kind of numbers are we talking? Thanks

Yeah seriously, re-installing the stock intake isn't very hard.
