Ah ok. But as far as performance will it really make any difference?

Hmm, ok. Maybe I'll get an injen filter. But will I really get any difference in performance? Or is it only if I had the injen pipes as well that I would really get a difference? I don't want to spend another $200 on an intake that's why I ask. Cause honestly it feels like the car is gasping for air when I'm WOT.

False info, it will not do any harm to your MAF unless you over oil the filter, which means drenching it in oil. If you do that, yes then of course u would hurt something, if u put a normal amount on, meaning enough to cover the surface of the filter then its perfectly safe

Yes I did. See the posts indicated in my signature. There is a post on installing the GMPP intake, one on making it true ram air and one where I ran the car on a dyno with stock intake, GMPP intake and GMPP intake with ram air. Interesting results!

I ran mine with an open hood scoop in downpoors and had no problem at all. The filter would get mildly damp, but seemed to keep itself fairly dry. I had no problem with water.

Some people early on with the K&N had problems (even when they were relatively dry), others didn't. I have never had a problem with a K&N on a GM MAF, although the intake on my Cobalt was GMPP.

When it pours, my car coughs and sputters like a mo fo. I even have an Outerwears on my filter.....

No one answered my second question. If I change my GMPP filter to an injen filter will it make ANY difference in performance? I know I probably wont feel a difference but technically CAN it make a difference? I know I can just get an injen intake, but I don't want to spend another $250 on an intake when I already have the GMPP one. So that's why I ask. The GMPP filter looks real cheap and like it does nothing.

Ever heard of Google? You can find pretty much anything you want via a search engine

:sigh:.........but which one do you want? I'll provide you with a link.

Well I changed my intake (basically took off the box the filter sits in and just attached the filter directly to the pipe) think that made it better or worse? I mean it sounds a bit louder...

Probably no more than 2HP. It's just the stock one ported and it don't do much. (from what I've read) But I'm curious as well.

i have a 2.4 ss and im just wondering what would be a better intake to order, the k&n SRI or the Injen intake and if i were to order the injen should i make it the full CAI or keep it the short ram,...i like the look of the injen intake better but im thinking that i would probably keep it SRI since i drive in heavy rain and stuff and dont want the car to bog...so should i just go with K&N since its designed to be SRI or does it not make to much of a difference between the two?

I drive in heavy rain all the time with my AEM. I will say that before I put the Outerwears pre-filter on, it did give me some hesitation problems during downpours. My MAF is a bit shot because of the heavy moisture it's had accumulated on it over the years, but the car still runs great. Out of the two your considering, I say go with the Injen. I like the K&N, but if you ever plan on running a torque damper like me, the K&N will get in the way.

Is a SRI easier to install than CAI?
Are all 2.2/2.4 intakes interchangeable?

I think so cause you have to remove the headlight to install an CAI

Yes the Injen will fit the 08 sport. All the CAI's get about the same amount of gain as far as I know, well actually thats probably true with all intakes in general.
