FYI K&N has an intake out specifically for the 2.4L just released and started shipping late last week. Part number 69-4517TTK

We have them in stock, take a look at our website, the photo on the product is the actual product.

IMO they are both good intakes whichever one you decide to go with.

They both have had the same reviews. Some people say they love them with no check engine light and some say they had some fitment issues. Ive heard the same amount of feedback on both intakes and are pretty much the same. Most of the time though you should be a.ok.

I say Injen, K and N is just a well known name, but Injen tends to seem the better, plus it sounds meaner, only problem is you want a dry flow not the stock it comes with.

K&N simply b/c they have an intake specifically for the 2.4 now. The Injen is designed for the 2.2. The Injen will work just fine, but I'd be willing to bet that you'd get better results with the K&N b/c it was designed for our cars.

I have an AEM 2.2 CAI on my 2.4SS, and while it works just fine, I plan on switching to the Rebel Autoworxs CAI b/c its a CAI actually designed for the 2.4.

Not if its not designed for your car. The AEM and Injen intakes us 2.4 owners are using aren't initially designed for our cars, they were designed for the 2.2 balts, therefore many of us have issues with CEL's coming on for numerous reasons. While a CEL isn't a life or death matter, itd still be nice to have an intake that isn't gonna throw codes left and right, therefore justifying my reasoning for supporting the K&N intake simply b/c its designed directly for the 2.4SS.

Installation of the K&N Typhoon was very easy.... removing the standard air box was the hardest part since I don't have a lot of metric tools. The removal and install took maybe an hour total as I had numerous interuptions while I was working.

You do NOT have to remove the "air silencer" which is inside the wheel well panel and behind the passenger side headlight!

The "Drive" test: Throttle response is improved. When you go WOT, everyone HEARS IT!... great big low growl that gets louder as the engine winds up. Accelleration improved.... the 55MPH "passing" accelleration is awesome as the automatic transmission kicks down on WOT and the engine wails as it winds up heading to 80 MPH!

The most popular units for the 2.4 have been the injen in the past. However we are seeing an increase in the K&N lately with the new model out.

I'm picking up the K&N 2.4L Typhoon, going over the install sheet it seems the least invasive out of the popular picks. Plus it is made specifically for the 2.4s. Anyone know where to get the filter cover? I live on a dirt road and that'll help me out a lot with filter recharging intervals.

Seriously, is air really THAT important for an engine? I think not!

Just kidding!

I am sure either is better than stock.

def k and n, i had the same thoughts you had, but you will actually love the k and n, its easy to install(i did it and i dont no alot about engines), the best sound its sick, the sound when you rev the engine and 16hp gain

The key consideration is the volume of air that can be passed through the filter and induction system. Increased air temperature in SRI systems is negligible except on very hot days when the car is not moving (stop and go city driving). When you go WOT 240 CFM of air from under the hood is replaced with air coming through the fender inlet, around the head light, the hood openings etc.... once the car is moving at 15 mph under WOT the air temperature increase in a SRI (HP loss) has much less effect than velocity and volume restrictions of CAI! K&N SRI for my 2.4L NA!

I'm sure this debate will now proceed.
