No the 2.4L is a completely different intake system on the 2.2 VS 2.4L Get the correct model. We have both in stock too.

I was under the impression that 2.2/2.4 intakes were the same, I believe I bought my K&N Typhoon off a 2.4 Cobalt.

But hes a vendor so he probably knows better than i do.

I believe they are the same, except the 2.2 has the port for the SAI tube. And a little plug for k&n, I absolutely love my intake!

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Bends and filter location are the same and the coupler from a 2.2 intake fits on a 2.4 throttle body so should work fine

They are the same. I accidentally bought a 2.2 intake for my 2.4 when I first bought my car. I just noticed a week ago.

They will both fit, one is designed specifically for each engine.

What's a lie? That I'm using a 2.2 intake in my 2.4? Because I really am.

No they're not the same, the 2.2 has the bend closer to the TB

Correct. K&N does crazy intake length tuning for each individual engine they make an intake for. The 2.2 intake is optimized for a 2.2 L displacement, same goes for the 2.4.

So if I got a used 2.2 intake for my2.4 would I see less gains because it is not made specific for my engine? Or would the gains still be about the same... I also have that SAI, if that's the rubber hose going into the top left of the engine.

Gains from an intake are pretty small as it is. You're not going to notice a couple horses.

according to K&N 2.4's see a gain of 15hp (go figure), but i know different manufacturers manufacture different pipe sizes for the 2.2 vs the 2.4, some being 2.75" others being 3" intakes. As the 2.4 benefits from the 3" (factory pipe size).

I don't believe what companies claim lol 15hp. How much whp is that? Still too small of a gain to notice.

I remember seeing something about that SAI. I think there's a certain intake that won't work with it. I forget which.

no that was literally their wheel horsepower dyno gain lol i mean im usually the first one to dismiss horsepower gains on any sort of 4 cylinder car from adding an intake, but K&N has always been relatively accurate in their estimates, and the range they give for cobalt motors seemed to make sense as well. If you estimate how restrictive the intake systems are on each of the motors. I made a thread about this in the dyno section remember?

2005 CHEVROLET Cobalt 2.0L SUPERCHARGED - 8.12 HP @ 5829 RPM
2005 CHEVROLET Cobalt 2.2L NA - 6.6 HP @ 4800 RPM
2006 CHEVROLET Cobalt 2.4L NA - 15.94 HP @ 5900 RPM
2010 CHEVROLET Cobalt 2.0L TURBO - 12.22 HP @ 4600 RPM

also, i never dynoed my intake so...who knows what it made lol not enough for me to notice thats for sure did make the car significantly louder.

Mine got so much deeper sounding and sounds much different up top around 5500 RPM with a redline at 7k, note completely changes.

yeh i put my zzp header kit on first and the car barely sounded any different from stock, soon as i put the intake on it was obnoxiously loud, i was amazed at the difference. You wouldnt think by looking at it that it restricted that much airflow.
