My 2.4 build.

Hello all!

Im currently in the middle of a 2.4 build!

Last week i was beating the ***** off my car running at 15psi WOT and i bent a rod. Of course with a bent rod it beat the **** out of the bottom end of my engine so i had to get a new engine.

Currently the list of parts is as follows:
1) Used low milage engine - 1k
2) Carrillo Rods- 1k
3) Custom 8.8:1 Wiseco pistons- 550
4) ARP head studs- 140
5) Valve Springs- 300ish
6) Ported + Machined - 650
7) Hahn intake manifold- 850
Labor = 1400

Goal- Atleast 450whp.
Hopes- break 500whp
I plan on taking it to Tune Time in Toms River NJ and getting it dyno tuned and maxing out the turbo that comes with the Hahn kit.

Ill update here and on G5club.net soon as i get some pics, currently have down time due to waiting for parts. Gonna be exciting! Should be first documented 400+Whp g5!

Update 11/14/08

So started getting some parts in, Got the Intake manifold / Rods... still waitning on the damn pistons, they said 2 weeks but we are almost at 2 and a half now.

Will post more as the build advances

Update 11/19/08
Pistons are in and engine headed to machine shop! woots.

Update 12/12/08
Sorry for the slow updates guys. Anyways 2 new pics
1 is of the valve springs and retainers
2 is of the bottom fully built ported polished and sleeved.

Car should be fully done by thursday of this week!

Update 12-18-08
2 new pics of the build in progress, maybe someone will actually comment this time lol.

Update 12-24-08
Updated a couple more pics. The build is complete. Got to take my pride and joy home tonight 8)

Thanks all for joining in on the fun. Any and all comments are welcome!

Thanks, that gives me something to look forward to when I finally throw a SC on my car.

I just noticed you live in Bethleham. We have an office down there in PA that works with our office.

Don't think you'll get the 450whp with the 2860

I concur. With that lofty goal you'll need more cfm.

hahaha no way, ill max out the current turbo and see what it puts up. Any mod above and beyond what i am currently doing will follow the purchase of the Quaife LSD.

ur gonna need more engine build then that to be safe. Im going to be running my G5 GT with meth with 10 psi haun stage 2 turbo with a tune i should be at 300WHP from what the tuning shop said. Without major engine mods and axle mods and stuff your going to brake something. Just going by what my mehanic said.

Nah, I think hell be safe, thats a pretty stout build with Carillo rods and Wiseco FI specific pistons, he'll be safe (engine wise) to the 500hp neighborhood. so long as all the clearances are good and its assembled properly.
