Ok ihave a question......all i have done to me engine is remove the plastic engine cover/ use synthetic oil and i am now gettin a CEL and cannot figure out why......does anyone know why this would be?

i dont know what it is i havnt had a chance to take it to the dealer yet....so i guess well see then.....i odnt know what it could possibly be.....would low fluid levels...(engine coolant/power steering) be able to set a CEL off?

once you start modding, the reader will become VERY handy

 

lmao holy **** thats exactly what it was....they told me like that and i was like wtf....i didnt know it wasnt on all the way ...it has to make 3 complete clicks

Does any one else have a "Check Gas Cap" light come on in the DIC before it throws the CEL for it? Mine did it and the display in the DIC warned me twice before it really set the CEL.

Depends on what you want to spend. You can get these from Autozone, O'Reilly's or other parts stores or you can buy a more advanced one from like MAC, Matco, Snap-On etc.

 

Or you can do it the cheapy way. Advance auto parts does FREE diagnostics. OBDII readings and such. Dealers charge like $50 where i live.
