Seriously...that's terrible, not on your part necessarily but on the Ion owners. He must be a freakin terrible driver. I know of a supercharged ECOTEC Cavalier running low 14s and he launches in 2nd lol

I remember being at the GMSC Bash last year and there were about 3 SS/SC and 1 Redline...they all ran 15.0 or worse. All of them couldn't launch for crap or hit the limiter in 1st gear very fast and couldn't shift fast enough into 2nd gear (or overall bad driving). It sucks to see such a nice car with some potential get handed to people who can't even drive them worth a damn.

Race fuel wouldn't benefit you anyways.

Please don't use drag racing as a measure of someone's driving ability. Mine will probably never even see a drag strip because that's not what I'm working on mine for. If I did go, I'd probably get a subpar time just because it's not what I do. Doesn't make me a bad driver, just means that I do my thing on the road course or auto-x course.

Only reason I am using it in this case cause I'm using the assumption that the Ion owner has raced at a drag strip on more than one occasion because he was looking to challenge him to a race before hand.

I'm not saying that if you suck at drag, you suck at driving...what I'm saying is that there are people out there who not only can't launch (which is a hard thing to get used to especially at a drag strip) but they ultimately can't shift properly regardless of street or track racing. Usually in a days worth or racing, you gradually get better...the people I saw racing were staying in the same 1/4 mile time range and everytime they took a lap they did the same exact thing. Mind you, this day they had a TON of passes cause not many people were racing.

I'm not saying that everyone with a supercharged cobalt or ion sucks at driving, just saying there are some who evidentally can't handle the car and either need to improve or they just won't improve cause they naturally can't drive the car.

Avro, since Ive givin up the idea of autox due to costs assosiated with it, I'm thinkin of goin to the track with some of the local guys in Sept,so I might have a few questions about shifting for the 1/4 soon(want to get good times) but Iam more interested in takin a spin around the street course they have in Mission but I have heard I have to take a course first.Do you find because of the clutch on the 2.4 is only about a inch and a half to engage forgetting to clutch also or is it a habit from driving your truck?

well the truck has an 8LL--so you have to shift it pretty fast. I never forget to use the clutch in my car but the very odd time (twice I think) my hand has been faster then my foot! crunch!
