does the 2.4L have 2 oxygen sensors or is it just the one. im installing the XTC dp tommorow and want to know if im in for a surprise. thats why im asking if theres more than one. today i had to go out and get a oxygen sensor wrench. it was only like $15. help would be appreciated.

 

Fairly certain I remember 2.

 

1 HO2S in the exhaust manifold and 1 HO2S after the catalytic converter = 2

 

so if im just replacing my dp ill only run into 1?

 

yep only 1 with the dp others in the manifold

 

well i can tell you exactly what you need. theres an O2 sensor at the collector of the header and an O2 sensor just after the downpipe. and when i changed my exhaust it was easy just dont break them or rip the wires out cuz there expensive for new ones. well all you need to get them out is a 22MM WRENCH thats it.

yes but you still need a 22mm wrench to losen the 02 and tighten it back up.

as posted before i purchased a special 02 sensor wrench. that is specifically what its for.

 

ok so i bought the 02 sensor wrench and it will still not loosen. it did nothing but round off the blt. not good at all. what should i do

 

well is the stupid tool a socket or a wrench or something from the dealer. like i said find a 22mm wrench and you wont round off the damn thing. and if all the flats on the nut are rounded then i think you need a new o2 then lol.

i tried the 22mm wrench. it wouldnt budge it. nor did it round it off. i bought the special o2 socket and that did nothing but round it off.

 

take it to the dealer then so its warrented.
