P0106 and TC

I was wondering if anyone knows why I would be getting a P0106 code along withe my TC light. What happens is when my auto shifts hard it throws the code and the TC light lights up. I only get the code when I get on the throttle. besides that the code doesn't register. The car is tuned and the trans has been also reflashed any Ideas. Thanks

Well update, I put my car completely back to stock and still got the code and TC light. Now chevy has had my car for two days and they said today that they are still trying to figure out what is making this happen. anyone else have this type of issue?

I have this same problem. My car is tuned and I was having this issue before I did any tuning. It's not the tune. I read somewhere else on here that someone was having the same problem. I think they said it had something to do with excess filter oil getting on the sensor from an aftermarket intake, something like that... but I'm not sure. I think there is even a TSB on it. It makes sense because my weapon r intake was one of the first things I got for my car.

its the tune thats the problem. the fueling tables are off..so when you go WOT there the car might bounce off the rev limiter set and will the t/c light will come on or the t/c light will just come on randomly due to this..its maf and fueling based causing this.

now to his problem its flashed back to stock..and still doing it.

I had the problem before I did tuning, from as far back as I can remember owning my car. Now I got my intake and muffler within a couple of weeks of first getting the car, so I don't know if I had the problem before the intake or not. But I know for sure it was before I did any other mods and I know it was before tuning.

Mine had the same issue and it was a bad exhaust cam solinoid. The phase for the exhaust side was choking the car so the computer sent it into limp home mode, which is exactly as the op described. An air leak from a bad seal at the CAI to throttle body connection will cause the same thing as unmeasured air is getting into the system.

this could be true since thats why the GMP intake comes with a non oiled filter because of the sensor. If you have a K&N i know that they oil there filters so maybe thats the issue.

Update on my TC/p0106 chevrolet had to recalibrate the ecm. I've been gone so I wasn't here. I'm going to call the dealer and find out what it actually was. I was tuned and then I untuned the car and I still had the problem. If somene can make heads or tails out of the service report I can scan it and e-mail it to them. The only thing I saw was a Misc. Tune- AC 200. They checked grounding and other things. I'm going to save this new calibration and retune the car and see what happens. My tune was on the car ECM/TCM for about a year or more before this happened so I don't think it was the initial tune. Like I said I will call the dealer and see if they will give me an explination so I can pass it along

I also had that problem before i had a tune, it turned out a loose fitting on my gmpp intake had come loose. All i had to do was put it back togeather and shut off the car for 10 mins and the code has been gone ever since.

They did retune the pcm remember I put the car back to stock for about a week before I took it in to see if the problem was the tune. I read the cause over, and all it says is Cause 200 Misc tune AC then the report goes on to every thing they checked.

P0106 and TC as well

Did anyone ever have a clear solution for this problem? I started having it when I was fully stock and didn’t pay much attention I just had a shop replace the MAP and it was ok for awhile but Im sick of having it happen and started looking and this thread didn’t really give a clear answer as to what actually causes this.

I've had this a couple times. I cannot remember what DTC code I would get but the MIL & TC light would be on and it hard shifted. The fix was to replace the VVT solenoids. They are right on top near the front of the engine. Kept in with 10 mm bolt each. Make sure to blow out dust/dirt/debris before pulling the solenoids so you don't get more junk in there to foul up the new ones.
