Piped out LE5

So the other day I was bored and decided to remove the muffer in leu of a straight pipe. Now every time I drive it I have a huge smile on my face. Best 16 bucks I have ever spent! Since I liked the sound I got a cheap stainless tip. The noise it makes when I downshift into second "L" at about 70 is undeniably the loudest 4 cylinder I think on the planet. I left in the cat and resonator. The car doesn't sound raspy, just sounds fast and loud, even thought the power gain is .001 hp. I would definitely reccomend it to anyone that is looking to rice out their 2.4. lol I have a video but a buddy put in on facebook so I don't know how to get it off of there. I'll make another one soon and post it up on youtube or something so anyone looking for some noise has an example.

No offence but you do realize that your gunna get pulled over by the cops at some point right. I would suggest actually doing some real hp mods to it like intake, catback exhaust, header/downpipe and then a performance tune.

A boosted vehicle is completely different with a muffler delete compared to a n/a vehicle. You obviously don't know anything about turbo's and how they effect the sound of a exhaust. A n/a vehicle is much louder and really should have a muffler to keep the sound levels down. Do some research before you post kid!

Why you would want to be loud without the HP gain? You just want be pulled over? Stealth is where it's at these days.

Holy **** you are dumb.

I am also willing to bet my LE5/LSJ with a 4-1 Longtube header to a 3" collector to a 3" dump is 100% louder than your junk.

Well i'm glad. I was just putting it out there if someone wanted to rice out their le5, it's cheap, sounds good, and I have yet to be pulled over. But this is southern minnesota and I drove an old ford diesel with just headers for over a year, never being pulled over. One day even doing a brakestand in front of the police. Call me stupid, but I just like loud vehicles.

I don't think thats possible. I have yet to hear a cobalt or LE5 anything that annoys me more than a ricer. I bet it sounds ok with a stock exhaust otherwise.

Luck of the draw. Give me the same exhaust set up and I promise it will be 10x louder than his car. The LNF really isnt that "loud". I do envy the exhaust tone from them though.
