PsykoStevo's tune installed by DOC
PsykoStevo's tune installed by DOC
Drove DOC nutz cause the 2.4 is apparently a HUGE pain in the ass to tune! (sorry again DOC
) But besides the loooong ass time it took to get it right and all the awesome effort DOC put into it I must say the tune from Steve is AWESOME! Ok my car was no turd before but now...HOLY OH MY DAMN!!! Its freeking killer!!! Heres the run down and other questions feel free to ask. The car idles normal nothing crazy, under normal driving you can't tell anything other then slightly firmer shifts. BUT when you nail it hang on! The 1-2 shift comes in at about 50-55 mph at 7000rpm and barks the tires at times hard enough to give you a slight pull to the right! This is an automatic here folks!! Ok the 2-3 shift is right around 80-85mph and hits almost as hard and again is at 7000 rpm. Now this tune DOES REQUIRE the 2.0 injectore swap (of which I started a thread for
! https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...721#post924721 Who do you love?) And the harness form a 2003 to 2005 Cavalier OR Sunfire. The harness is plug and play with your factory Cobalt harness and it in turn is plug and play with the 2.0 injectors so no cutting, no splicing, no BS! Steve has video of this tune in action as it knocked off over a SECOND
(Yes you read that right) Knocked off OVER A SECOND off the 1/4 mile times for the 2.4! For a second to be knocked off for an automatic is serious stuff folks! And the total cost of this UBER TUNE.....$50.00 for the injectors, $5.25 for the used Cavi harness lunch for DOC (still owed IDK where he went to) and an undisclosed deal between Steve and I as I'm NOT going to cut his throat on this! But I doubt he'd charge TOO TOO much. But come on a SECOND or MORE off the 1/4 mile times for an automatic 2.4! How much would it cost you to mod it to that point? This is theee biggest bang for your buck out there PERIOD!
Now I'll be happy to answer any questions that I can.

nice work guys. yeah im trying to get a harness off a cavy/sunfire..not a single one around to take a harness off by me. and the dealer wants about 100 bucks. are u worried about ur tranny getting hot? im gonna install a tranny cooler. with these firmer shifts it puttin a lot of tension on the tranny. but yeah it prolly moves good...there is a vid of a run on here..very curious. im trying to get my injectors in before friday cuz I mite be going to the track..doesnt look like thats happening. hey jackalope..i pmed u. keep up the good work.
ps: yeah the 2.4 is totally different than the 2.0 and especially the auto 2.4. having fun Doc? if u want ask paul about some ideas with tuning the 2.4 as he did mine.

As for the trans cooler thats the next mod I'm looking to do. I figure in a week or two I'll throw one on, maybe do a quick how-to since this mod is taking off well and others will be needing it also. But for now I'm taking it easy and not running it hard all the time.
I did and from a dead even 50mph roll they still put a car or 2 on me but at higher speeds
we're almost dead even! In fact I played around with a couple SS/SC cars on the way home and when we're on it hard.....they couldn't get around me! Now true its not like it was totaly open road but it's deffinently a HUGE improvment! With a header and a catback I should be as fast as a stock SS/SC car.
but I'll let you all know.
DOC did a 5spd too and the kid kept a towel on his lap I guess I now know why!

I guess for your stage kits we'll just need to spray on it!
Damn, I didn't even know you were an auto Jackalope. I came up with Doc for the meet and saw you running down that side road by the cemetary after your tune. You were friggn' moving man. Oh, and the sport tint looks awesome on your 4-door.
That kid would be me, and let me tell you... that towel came in handy! The tune is amazing, if I lay into it, zero traction all the way through second. I love it, gotta talk to Doc though, throwing a CEL.
You are the guy I helped with the injectors. Man, I meant to get up with you after Doc tuned it. I wanted a ride to see what a 2.4 with the injector swap felt like.
My bad man, it feels really nice though. If we get a chance to meet up again, Ill give out all the rides my girl can handle. And thanks for the help on the injectors, much appreciation.
Tuneing
im still looking on as how to tune the 2.4 after injector swap and harness swap and catback install and header and dp. i wanna see how all that can work fine and not have one problem. still havnt heard one person about hptuners around me that can tune my car. gees cheapos.

I have the injectors, I just need the wiring harness. Unfourtunantly, b/c I moved recently, my credit card information dosent yet match my billing information, so GMPartsdirect.com voids my order, so I need to find another place to get the injector harness and i'll bet set. Doc was gonna tune my car this past Fri, but I never heard from him. Owell, I didnt have the harness anyways so it would've been a lost cause.
